  5. Left the dock at 6 pm and fished until about 9:15 pm 2 of us, and ran 2 corner riggers, 2 dipseys, and 2 boards... Trolled from 90 fow to 240 mostly on a sw heading and found no bait, and just scattered fish. Went 1/2 Had a nice rip and fish on high wire dipseys out 250' with blue/pearl SD and pickled sunshine fly, but fish came off after about 10 minutes Then pulled a small laker on 75' copper with monkey puke spoon when bringing the lines in... That's about it, and the north breeze was chilly. Tight lines! Hope the weather straightens out and the lake sets up soon... Sent from my SM-G973U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  6. Heading out to fish tomorrow and Tuesday, with the East blow I'm guessing the cold water will be in tight and the fish will likely be as well. Anybody been out today? Anybody going to be out tomorrow? Let me know, Reel Deal on 68 Sent from my SM-G973U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  7. I have VERY unfortunate issue with my front port side 1999 - 21' Proline cuddy - it's the curved piece and NO way to get a replacement. By all measures - to get a new one - if there was one - would be very costly $$$$$$$ - so I made my own - it worked great - hope this helps someone out there!
  8. Great report, good job! Sent from my SM-G973U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

Went 0-2 both on mag dipseys set on 3, 130 out, one wire, one braid, 2nd fish felt like a beast, but came off, both hits on meat rigs Sent from my SM-G950U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

  16. Fished from 4-9:30 pm... Lots of scattered marks and plenty of cold water allowed me to get the second skunk of the season... Tough conditions, but we tried! Sent from my SM-G950U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  17. Fished from 7 - 10:30 pm in 120-250 fow... Some good marks and some bait here and there, but could not get anything to go, first skunk of the year! Radio chatter seemed to confirm this was a very slow night... Sent from my SM-G950U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  18. Sorry for the late report... Fished from 5:30 am and pulled line at 10 am, went 3/4 Didn't have a hit until 7ish, even though we marked some fishing bait from the time we started trolling in 75 feet of water until 140 or so. It wasn't until we headed south about 3 miles south of port we found some active fish in the 130 range. Fish hit everything from wire Dipsy 150 out, downrigger 55 down, big rip on a 400 copper, that fish was lost, and the Deep rigger at 95. Oh no it was a good hour of catching, we caught an 8# laker on white paddle little boy blue fly, 12# king 55 down with glow green fire tiger moonshine, and a 11# steel head on wire dipsy, with blue paddle and protagonist fly out 150. It was a beautiful morning and the west wind kept a good shop on the water, but when the fog bankrolled in we called it a day. Sent from my SM-G950U using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

  21. I had a single copper rod that was hit 2 times in 1 week this past month that I didn't have enough backing on for various reasons - I had about 150 YDS of 50# PP and both times almost ran the whole thing out on the first run - that was the LAST time that reel would get hit - I added about 250 YDS of PP and now - let the big boys hit is all day...use enough mono to start with IF you don't have a little 'post' on your reel seat - otherwise the braid will slip on the spool - the mono helps keep it in place. After that - add as much braided backing so that the reel fills up properly with the copper or lead core after that.
  22. Fished 8:15 AM - 1:30 PM Hit the lake a little late - headed NNW to 125 FOW with some scattered marks - temps were 76 on top and 51 down 90' Stayed on a NNW troll to about 320 - turned back to 200 and headed back to 320. There were good temps and some bait balls here and there - but we could not get things moving What worked: 3 rips on wire mag dipsy on 2 - 175 back with green/pearl SD and white fly 1 rip on braided mag dipsy on 2 - 225 back with glo blue jeans SD and blue crinkle fly 1 on DR - 90 down - glow mag green and white mag spoon - 8# steelhead not many guys seemed to be catching - not sure these fish will ever show up this year!
