  1. Nice looking boat, I can't wait to see it all rigged up!
  2. I have ran free sliders above a flasher before without any issues. Usually I do not run them, I would rather run more boards or dipsies like Tad Pole said.
  3. Last year I switched one of my braid divers to a wire diver and was running one side wire and the other side braid. Our wire diver easily out produced the braid diver last season. For the most part I only ran the two divers and generally the braid was set up to run a little shallower than the wire diver so that may have been part of issue. This year though I will be running two wires, I like fighting fish better on wire anyway.
  4. Welcome to the site, I also fish out of Sturgeon Bay. I will most likely have our boat at the Sturgeon Bay Marine Center feel free to stop by.
  5. Can't wait to see that sunrise again!
  6. Nice looking ride Chris!
  7. I also fish the Bank, how often do you make it over there. Good to here from another member that fishes the same area.
  8. The super copper does spool much nicer than the standard copper, but you still have to be careful when letting it out. Usually when putting out my copper I will tighten the spool tension so the spool can't spool freely. After it is out far enough to pull line on its own I will loosen the tension and start using the drag to regulate how fast the line is coming off the spool. I have asked the guys at Howie if there was a difference in sink rate with the super copper and they said there was not. Here is a depth chart that was posted in a previous thread. Hope this helps.
  9. Yep, what Just In Time said. I ran a 300 super copper last year and loved it. I will not buy the regular copper again.
  10. Good to see another WI guy, I am looking forward to reading some of your posts.
  11. Yes, that would be correct. You should have your board rods the farthest foreword followed by the dipsies in the middle and you riggers in the back. Good luck and welcome to the site.
  12. Very nice!! If that doesn't make you want to get the boat out I don't know what will.
  13. If you want your divers to have a little more separation you can use two different sizes but using the same size would not be a problem.
  14. Nice looking flies ITO! You have inspired me to try and make some of my own spoon imitating flies. The one on the left is a NBK and the other is a Flounder Pounder. The Flounder Pounder doesn't look like much in the light but the skirt glows light green and the beads glow light blue.
  15. I switched my 300 over to super copper last year and loved it, well worth the little extra cost.
  16. West Michigan Salmon & Trout Shootout
  17. My dad has the Panther steering system on his boat and he has had his issues with it. On one occasion the bracket connecting the kicker to the steering unit rattled loose while trolling. We also had a number of occasions when we turned to motor and it would not turn back the other direction. Believe me that is not something you want to happen when you have a full spread of lines out! When it is working good it is a nice unit, especially when there are only one or two guys on the boat, but personally I think I would rather have the EZ Steer.
  18. Sounds like an interesting concept... May be something to experiment with this year. Generally I run about 30' to 50' of leader.
  19. Here you go Robert, here are a few pics of my wife Kirsten out doing some fishing with me.
  20. That would be awesome. I use any excuse I can get to go to Gander. I could spend an hours just looking at stuff that I have looked at a hundred different times. Unfortunately the Gander in my home town has a very limited selection (not many people salmon fishing in central WI). Thanks
  21. Welcome to the site, I look forward to reading more of your posts.
  22. I have to order more glow beads for the upcoming season, not sure if will order from Purple Taco or from troutbeads.com. Has anyone used Trout Beads, if so what do yo think of them?
