  1. You will get them next time Jim, at least you were able to get on the water.
  2. That's a fine addition Jim, you will love it.
  3. Welcome to GLF Bob! The thread you replied to was actually from April, I was fooled for a bit as well.
  4. Nice job Matt, all we can do is deal with the conditions that are given to us. Good luck pursuing a mate job! Unfortunately our boat is tucked away in the garage for the winter as well. For us the 2010 season got off to an exciting start since we were taking our new boat out to fish for the first time. We started fishing in June and were greeted with excellent fishing which continued through July. In August and September things changed and fishing was pretty hit or miss for us. Riggers and dipsies were both good for us this year with FF combos. White Hotspot flashers and glow or aqua flies were the best. We also did very well with a happee meal spoon on a light line rigger. Our copper and core lines were very slow for us this year, and only took a handful of fish. We ended up catching 166 fish on 22 trips for 2010. Our biggest fish was 18.5# which was also caught on our first trip of the year. We had a lot of fun fishing and getting used to the new boat over the course of the summer. Looking forward to next year already!
  5. I could sure use a setup like that for spring and fall, nice looking setup Mark!
  6. Nice job on the fish Brian! Sounds to me like you might have to get a few more of those yellow tail spoons.
  7. A wire diver is a dipsy diver (or similar product) run on a wire main line. Most guys use a 30# 7 strand braided stainless wire. Wire diver will dive faster and deeper than mono and superline divers. Wire divers also give off a unique signature as they go through the water that many guys believe helps draw in fish. Our wire divers were probably our hottest presentation this year, and they are a ton of fun to fight fish on. Hope this helps.
  8. I am supprised you were able to get your divers to release with the mono mainline. You may want to look at putting braid or wire on a few rods. Braid and wire will allow your diver to reach a much deeper depth as well as make the divers easier to release due to the no streatch qualities. For the pump handle setups I use swivels to attach the 1 lb ball and then about a 6' leader to the bait. The weight does not fall off. I generally use braid or wire for the mainline on these as well.
  9. Welcome to GLF Brian. I agree with Nick that you may have a little to aggressive of a spread with six divers running. One thing you might want to try is replacing your mag dipsies out the back with one pound balls (pump handles). I would run a flasher/fly combo on one of the pump handles, and a plug on the other. For the dipsies I would put FF combos on the low divers and spoons on the high divers. From there on you can adjust your spread according to what the fish want. Also talk to as many guys as you can to try and find out where the fish are, how deep, etc.. Good luck Brian.
  10. Interesting idea Jim, should be a good way of keeping hot combos together without getting twisted and kinked lines. I would like to see how it all works once it's in the boat. Does the cap attach in some way?
  11. welcome to GLF Dave, that bug has bit a lot of people around here!
  12. I have had a food saver for a little over a year now and I have been happy with it up to this point. Hopefully it continues to work well for us. What went bad on the Food Savers for you guys?
  13. You'll take care of business next time Jim, it sure has been tough lately.
