  1. For us up in Sturgeon Bay June was our best month last year catching lots of mature kings. SB is a bit different with the bank reef but we were picking up fish from 80 down to 160 FOW.
  2. Welcome to GLF Arron! Good luck with the new boat next season!
  3. Good stuff Troy, I like it!
  4. Congrats Mike, I wish I could have been here for all five!
  5. I would not suggest clipping the board onto the copper. I have never tested it but I could imagine that the spot where you clip on the board would get very weak.
  6. Welcome to GLF Kim! One of the RV dealers by me sells those wheel houses, they're pretty nice units.
  7. I think the price is pretty good on those combos as well, but personally I would like them set up a bit different. On the wire I would rather have 1000' of wire, and I would like a bit more backing on the copper and a shorter rod. With that said both these combos will work for you, just a matter of personal preference.
  8. I have run up to 300' of 45# copper on ours, if you were going to go with something longer it wouldn't hurt to have a little more backbone though.
  9. I think 30 to 40 would be a pretty good ballpark number for 45# at slower speeds. There are a lot of variables that will change the depth that you copper is running. Speed is the main factor but currents and bait will also change things. I did not have much luck on my shorter coppers last year, but I was primarily targeting fish that were much deeper.
  10. I would suggest adding wires as well. My wire dipsies are the fist rods to go in and are probably our hottest presentation. I also have a light line rod that I use and is a ton of fun to fight fish on. I usually deploy it as an oddball in my rigger spread and it has put a lot of fish in the boat for us.
  11. Welcome to GLF! As long as you don't have a rod with really small eyes you should be alright. 20 to 50# for the rod sounds a bit heavy to me, I usually use 10 to 30# rods.
  12. A 4 wheeler with a downrigger on the back would be good in that application.
  13. This is also what I do.
  14. I do the same Tom, unfortunately it only makes me want to go fishing more.
  15. Nice pics Jay! Makes me want to go fishing!
  16. :lol:Good stuff Mike!
  17. Jim, there are a few different programs out there for GPS navigation. Once you have the program you can download different charts off the internet for free. Then get yourself a gps puck for your computer and your set. Take a look at the Sea Clear software, you can download it for free online. I believe this is the program that Frank has.
  18. It depends on which boards you are using. You would probably have to use the bigger boards to run a 1# ball, like the Church Tackle TX-44.
  19. I never would have thought that those rods would stand up to wire diver abuse. I may have to look into them some more.
  20. Chris, do you ever have issues with the wire kinking at the tip of the rod because of the small radius?
  21. Nice picture Matt! Here is one of my favorites from when I was a kid. I think this picture was taken in 85. I'm the little guy on the right.
  22. I am signed up as well, see you guys there!
  23. Plugs, here is the link where I seen the rotating gimbal mounts if you are still interested.
  24. Jim, I fixed the date on your original post for you.
