  1. That's a great video Mark. I saw that last year and thought about trying that rig for the hog lakers in superior. Only time ended up fishing lakers last year was jigging stannard rock for them. Maybe this year. Btw....love the hewes craft:thumb:
  2. We house a brand new $60,000 hovercraft in one of our shops for our local sherrifs department just because of this type of thing. They destroyed the old one running out in a similar situation for a break through rescue last year. The hull was ripped to shreds by all of the choppy shove ice WAY out on the lake trout grounds. You won't catch me out there either, but for the guys that still risk it...the new hovercraft has more ground clearance and a full kevlar hull:thumb:
  3. Welcome to GLF Dean. There are alot of guys on here to point you in the right direction on the ice.

  5. Great pic Mike! Thanks for sharing that one. Ive never seen the rock like that before:thumb: Great Story.....crazy yoopers!!
  6. Joe In Cabo for an 8 hour trip they like to see no less than a $100 tip, which is right around 10%, and that is coming from the fleet owner. Best thing you can do is get yourself educated on the different tactics used to catch different fish and just straight out tell these captains what YOU want to do. Some of these guys are not very ambitious and it is your dime. Be as proactive as you can because with some there is a little language barrier that only hurts the customer if you dont know anything about what kind of fishing you are doing. There are tons of resources on the web to get yourself familiar with this even if you have never done it before. On the smaller marlin tuna and dorado don't let them sit you in the fighting chair ask for the fighting belt if they don't offer, it is much more fun. Check out the video tutorials here This is the type of fishing that you want to do if you are going to tip more than 10%!!
