  1. if the thermocline is in the 30's then why would 56 degrees be at 80 feet down.and surface was in the low 60's.

That was along my thoughts. It would appear that one rigger is 80' down? How many other riggers did you have down and at what depth? Some times, if you run the bait close to the ball, the graph will mark the lure (bait) too. One other explanation for the marks (lines) in the 30's, is the graph is picking up the DR cable.

  2. It would appear if the sensitivity is is set a bit too high? Not sure if that is the thermocline, in picks 2&3, either. Most units, that I have seen, have a gradual color change w/ the thermocline. The marks that you refer to would appear to be clutter. With limited experience with that particular unit, I'm sure that I could be wrong. The important part is that you have the ability to mark fish.

  3. Set up, in the first rain storm, north in 85 FOW just before 7 o'clock. Worked NW out to 110 with out a bump. Made the turn and worked back in closer. Around 8 PM we lost a good fish on the DR 60' down w/ a Stinger blue freaking veg. in 97 FOW. Not too long later, the 300' copper went. It was a nice 16# King on a DW mag. mixed veg. It wasn't much later when the same DR fired again. This time it was very spunky 5# King. It hit the Stinger Nitro Hell Fire 35' down on a fixed slider. Then the big storm came. The wind picked up allot. The waves started to build and cap instantly. We opted to pull lines and run in. Found a laker on the other DR when we pulled lines. It hit MS Flounder Pounder 77' down. The storm blew by so fast, that it was over by the time we had all of the lines pulled. Turned out to be a good thing we pulled when we did. The boat had been taking on some water and neither bilge was working.

  4. I have 4 of the 9-6 MH FireWolfs. I used them for over 6 years now. The only problem that I've had was the ceramic guides came out of one of the tips. I've changed them over for my short core rods a couple of years ago. With a couple of inner flow and roller rods, for dipseys, I didn't have any other use for them. Not having invested in trees yet, they have served me well. I recall buying mine for around $20 or less a piece.
