DIRTY DOG Posted March 12 Posted March 12 A good friend and my self made our annual combo trip to Portage Indiana for perch and coho . Fishing was nothing short of outstanding, we left the ramp around 8:30 and headed off shore to the perch grounds , about half way out to them we ran into some very thick fog but continued on and fished our perch limit with some very nice jumbo around 10:30. After that we headed straight south to the Gary light and made one pass from just west of the light east ,to the end of the wall and finished with our limit of good sized coho , all on custom painted thin fins from Silver streak ran clean back 75’ off the boards ,speed was 2.5-2.9, water temp was 36.0 to 36.9 . All done and back to the trailer by 1:30. Dang I love early season perch and coho down there. Here is a picture of the boats , and some of the catch. 3
