Holland 10/9 PM - last Holland Chinook plant PUG may ever catch!?

icey cold water

huge bait balls of shad

current was so bizarre that with the one we caught PUG was running 1.4mph and it was the far inside board on our turn so the jplug had to have been going .5mph and when it hit all we noticed was the board disappeared and the line slacked and then about 10 seconds later the Chinook which had been running with the fast current launched in thee air about 50ft directly off the bow

Pug's friends at the DNR stopped planting Holland 3 years ago so this may be the last of the plants for us...

Amazing bite in all that shad.

I got a late morning launch and fished for a 2.5 hr window in 2ft waves with only a fly by bite in 50-60 fow. The water was cold but I couldn't put it to my advantage even closer in. The shad were all over the place shallow or deep.

Ended up 2/4 yesterday with a small sheep and this nasty slime monster.  Hit on a downrigger on a flicker shad there’s 1000000000 live shad to choose from and you gotta hit the weird purple one…
