I find a lot of times mid morning, midday,mid afternoon when all else seems to be dead, that frog type grn white black dots in flasher or spin doctor really turns them on! The other one that really works through those time is the disco/plaid july aug sometimes I can't hardly get that sucker in fast enough. Last yr mid August out of pentwater, we had a day around noon where we couldn't get another rod in the water we fished one rod for nearly an hr pulling fish after fish if I remember correctly we went 6-8 just in that hour with only one rod as fast as we could pull them in and put it back! that was a green frog type fly (ones with rubber and tinsel).
