Old J-Plugs

Recommended Posts

This is a good time to save your tuna fish oil :thumb:

A qt. or pint is enough for a year depends if your wife will let you keep it in the frig.

Here's what I do and it works, I take a old j-plug that I don't use, or don't catch fish I'am sure we all have them and cut about 3/8" off the tail end, or as you may remember the one's that had a screw in tip that you took out and put light stick in, works too.

I use that hole to put tuna oil in it No more then 1/2 full, put small piece of cotton in the end works as a wick when pulled through the water, then I take the hook set off the plug and replace with a 12" pike leader and put setup behind my cannon ball as my deepest rig in the spead, as scent will go up in the water.

I then use a stacker type release about 12"-24" above the ball hook your line in and get ready, works great on slow fish, :thumb:

Also get an old mustard bottle, works good to keep oil in and put oil in j-plug.
