GLF Posted August 15, 2010 Share Posted August 15, 2010 Proposal to evaluate regulation options for recreational harvest of lake trout inLake MichiganThe DNRE, Fisheries Division is proposing changes to regulations for harvest of lake trout by State-licensed recreational anglers from Lake Michigan. The primary objectives of the proposed changes in regulations are to ensure targets are met for rehabilitation of lake trout while providing for valued angling opportunities. Statewide, there is also a strong interest to simplify regulations whenever feasible. We will begin a dialogue with various constituent groups to evaluate potential recommendations for changes to season and size regulations for lake trout in Lake Michigan, which should better align us to meet the objectives stated above.Read more here.
