Boltman
Has anyone installed Auto stops on the riggers for Big Jon? I did and well I lost a weight last week, I must have crimped the cable sleeves too hard and cut the cable, last week while pulling up the rigger, the Autostop rubber stops got cuaght in the pulley and the rigger never stops pulling up , which snapped the cable right at one of the sleeves.. so anyone crimped without hurting the cable???? Rayman96
I have read on other forums where the same thing happened to other trollers.Crimping is a bit of an art. Requires cable, crimp and crimping tool to match. My riggers are old and don't have the auto stop feature. The other posters switched to the Scotty beads.HIH
nojmanloo
I did not crimp but used glue to hold a scotty speed bead in place on either side of the autostop tube
Paulywood
I crimped and haven't had a problem with the cable, I did it 3 years ago. I do have a problem with the bead getting caught on the line and stopping it to early. Maybe I will epoxy it to the crimp. Thanks for the idea.
