Just One
Has anybody ever took these reels apart to lube them? I've got 4 of these reels that are going on 3 years old that feel like the drag dont work like it used to. They didn't get a whole lot of use in those 3 years - Probably why the drags dont feel right. I thought of pulling the side off to see what was in there and shooting some lube in them. Does anybody have any words of advise? Thanks
Steve Arend
Over time if you don't loosen up the drags when not in use or storing them for the off-season the drag washer tend to warp. take some very fine grit sand paper and lay the washers flat on the paper and rub them pack and fourth a few times on both sides to flatten them out. Just One
Thanks for the advise Steve. I took one apart the other night and just lubed it. I was afraid to take the gears and everything else that was under the little plate off, so I just dropped some lube on them. Seemed to work (at least it didn't hurt) and it was fun to figure out how a reel works.
