  1. My brother and I are headed to Ludington fri. morning to hopefully stay here till sunday. Does anybody know were we could launch a boat thats close to Buttersville Campground. Were taking his boat, a 16fter. Some place cheap would be nice. Were even open to suggestions as someplace else to stay. Were taking the truck, 5th wheel, and his boat so I little drive to the lake is fine. Lets cross our fingers and hope for good weather! Thanks
  2. personaly, i dont believe in it. the way i grew up was that, thats what scouting was for. find out where the deer go and sit there instead of feeding the deer so they are full of food and making then lazy. the deer eat off the pile and than go lay down for the rest of the day. (so if you dont bait your odds of getting a deer go down) i do understand that now a day people are busy'er than that used to be - i know i dont have much time to scout anymore. I would just like to see more deer out and about than what you used to. i camp w/ family up at drummond island every year and its nothing to see huge piles of bait from the camps next door (they got a trailer they pull just loaded with bait and the quad with the dump on the the back to take a load to each stand everyday) real sportsman!!! Thats my opinion!

    Odd

A lot of the newer veh. dont have pass. side lock cyld. You should have heard a customer I had today at my dealership. He bought his wife a 2006 Pontiac G6 convertible. No lockes in either door. His wife left the lights on (or at least there were on when the tow truck driver droped the car off). Ran the battery down and couldn't get into the car. Just a yellin' at me for not havin' locks in the doors:eek: Like I designed it:D They dont pay me enough!!!!!
  4. Thanks for the advise Steve. I took one apart the other night and just lubed it. I was afraid to take the gears and everything else that was under the little plate off, so I just dropped some lube on them. Seemed to work (at least it didn't hurt) and it was fun to figure out how a reel works.
  5. Has anybody ever took these reels apart to lube them? I've got 4 of these reels that are going on 3 years old that feel like the drag dont work like it used to. They didn't get a whole lot of use in those 3 years - Probably why the drags dont feel right. I thought of pulling the side off to see what was in there and shooting some lube in them. Does anybody have any words of advise? Thanks
  6. I've got a hard time catching 1. I dont know what I would do if I caught 5.
  7. I'm a service consultant for Graff Chevy-Pontiac in Durand Mi. (I'm the guy people b*#tch at when there Chevy products break and yeh they do break)
  8. Had time today to call Lowrance. After a 20min. wait to talk to somebody the lady said "We had some problems with the GPS reception on the earlier models". All I need to do is send it back to them and they will up date it for me. I also asked if I could swap it for a external antenna but she said no. I could purchase the antenna and it will work on my unit. I shouldn't have waited so long to call them.
  9. My ff/gps is about 2ft from my VHF antenna. I yet have had time to call Lowrance. I have been pondering the idea of selling my boat now and trying to get through the rest of the summer without it.
  10. Wow! After reading that thread I better study on my fish species.
  11. I went dont to St. Joes fishing one saterday and come back to a business card put under my wiper blade. Good way to advertise.
  12. I could also be wrong. I just started fishing for Salmon/Trout a couple years ago so maybe I am wrong. I carry a copy of the dnr fishing regulation guide book but it was wet and sticking together. I dryed it off by the fire the next day and there wasn't any brown color to so I assumed it was a lake trout. Here's another pic to ty to help. Good Luck
  13. Well I did the updates and took her out on lake michigan last weekend(5.27.06). The fishin was good but the catchin stunk. Come home with one and lost another one at the boat. The lake was like glass, allowing my wife and I to get out to 190 fow. I built my own downriggers and only put about 50 - 60 ft of cable on them. So I couldn't get down that deep. Back to the tread. The sky was cloud free most of the day. Nobody around the lowrance and I kept loosing gps signal. I need to call lowrance and see what they would do. Im going to get a little pst if they wont do anything for me. I keep you guys updated.
  14. well actually my wife did:D my file was to big from the start. she some how had to e-mail the pic to myself to shrink the file, save that to my pics under another name, and download from there:confused: well heres my pic: I caught this baby at lake margrethe 2 weekends ago late friday night. it was funny because i was under my dash tring to figure out why my lights weren't working (by myself).i also got the hook caught in the outer edge of the net before i got the fish in it. It turned out in my favor so that was o.k. thanks for the help guys:)
  15. But I dont have any pic in the gallery yet.
  16. I got a '04 Crew Cab 1/2 ton. Pullin the boat I get 13 or 14 @ 75mph. If I can keep it around 65 to 70mph I get around 15 to 17mpg. I got a K&N but I still need to get a exhaust. Who wants to take there time when there on there way fishin' (But im not talkin drivin crazy)
  17. When I try to upload a pic it says:Sorry, but you do not have enough space on your account to add this image. What do I need to do to upload my pic? Thanks for the help!
  18. Thanks for the info GLF. A couple weeks ago was the first time I ever fished at muskegon. The wife and I blew the day off work and went fishing there. I was going to stay at the state park there but the fishermans landing would be a lot better and cheaper. I was checking the dnr website last night and the price of staying at state parks is ridiculous(spl?). There getting so the young family couldn't afford it. I also read there getting internet access at some campgrounds - now thats camping . Thanks again. Just hope the weather turns around. One
  19. I live in about the center of the state so no matter where I go, its a long ride @ $3.00/gal. Next weekend, 5/19 - 5/20, I'd like to load up the camper and stay the night some where.Depending on the weather. I just need to find a place to do it. I'd like to go to lake michigan and stay some place where I wouldn't have to load and unload the boat but I know that is limited. I've stayed at insta-launch in manistee. So thats an idea. Does anybody have any other suggestions? Somewhere close to lots of fish would be nice to.
  20. I bought the 334C @ the Spring Boat Show in Birch Run this spring. Didn't take long to install and easy to use. The one thing I really dont like is the internal gps. I have a '87Bass Tracker w/ side console. I mounted the unit on the outside of the console w/ a ram mount. The drivers seat is about 2' from the ff. If I stand up I loose GPS signal. I set down a it will come back. It also seems like it takes a long time to get sat. signal. (I should compare it to my Garmin hand held.) I do need to do a update to it but I also talked to another guy that has the same problem and was told there was nothing Lowrance could do. I just wish I would have got a enternal antenna. Just my 2 cents.
  21. Hello Everyone, I'd like to intoduce myself. My name is Kayle Wilson and I live in Owosso, MI. I'm married w/ our first son, Kameron. He just turned 3 months (I just got another fishin buddy ). I just started fishin the big water last year and what a blast. Its even funer when you catch fish. I'll probably ask a lot of questions cause I dont do very good when I do go fishin, so I got a lot to learn. I cant get on this site at work so that stinks but I'll try to check back often. Good Luck On The Water, One
