Kings Around Posted September 3, 2009 Share Posted September 3, 2009 After taking some lumps fishing in the harbor and channel on Monday morning and Monday evening and combining for a whopping 3 for 6, we headed offshore on a tip from a buddy to find some great steelhead action. Tuesday night I was on a buddies boat for our trip and we ended up capturing 5 steelies and 1 king out of the 13 opportunities we had. The steelhead were rolling around the boat all evening. Best bait by far was Nailer Easter Egg Glow (48) that went 5 times on the 5 color. Wednesday night we set up near the same place and were 11 for 17 or 18. Boating 7 nice steelies and 4 kings. It was primarily a Spoon bite again with Easter Egg Glow taking the most hits with 5. Green and Black ladder back Plug chipped in with a couple on a flat line 100 ft behind the in-line board, along with Pink Ice (40) with 3 hits. We also took hits on Sunfire (69), Mashed Banana (11), a couple rips on the wire back 160 with a big green flasher and seaweed fly. We fished from 120-150 feet of water zig zagging between the nets. TJP Posted September 4, 2009 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Good Job! Sounds like you had the same program going we have for the last 3 days. We took 6 steelys each day and managed to throw a few coho in along with some 3 year old kings. The 5 color has been the hottest by far.
