Kings Around
Standard size (300) Northport Nailer spoons were the key again on Saturday. Finished up the day with a mixed box of 6 Kings, 2 Coho’s, 2 Steelhead and a Laker on 16 hits. We set up in 110 or so and headed west. Didn’t take our first hit until we hit 165, then the rods started going. Our best was from 160-180 slightly north of the Muskegon Pier. Seemed like we could only get our fish to go when we were on a North West troll. We took Spoon hits on Mashed Banana (K11), Orange Ice Glow on Gold (K41G), Lemon Ice Glow (K43), Mixed Veggie (K47), Mixed Veggie on Gold (K47G), Grassfire Glow (K77) and a Protype purplish/pink and Black spoon in a “tiger†pattern. Took a couple of Fly bites, one on a big white paddle and Mirage Horsefly, the other with a green/silver spin doctor with a Seaweed Horsefly. 3, 5, 7, 10 color all took hits, along with 125 copper, High dipsy’s back 110. The lone “deep†fish was a laker that came on a rigger down 120 with the Mirage Horsefly.
