LongLine Posted June 4, 2006 Share Posted June 4, 2006 Don't know about boat trailers but commercial haulers need an oversize permit, signs, flags and an escort for anything over 10 ft wide. (just sent some equipment at work, cross-country, originating in NY to Texas, via Chicago) Best bet is probably to check with particular state motor vehicles dept. GLF Posted June 4, 2006 Author Share Posted June 4, 2006 I know a few charter captains charter on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan. They trailer their boats(31') back and forth. There is a fee for everything, so I would think there is a few involved with getting a permit?What about the charter guys who store their boats at their house in a barn in the winter?
