Fished Manistee harbor 8-16, 17, and 18 with Tom (tltorrice). Set up in 130 fow Saturday am west of nets and south of harbor, various spoons on downriggers took the majority of fish. Saturday evening was spent trolling north of the harbor around 60 fow it didn't seem to matter on depth as there was cold water everywhere. Glow j-plugs and spoons and herring strip meat rigs were the big producers that evening. Sunday evening was a tough bite all the way to Onekama mostly in 70 to 80 fow.

Monday morning was the most fun. We set lines just outside of the pierheads as that 's where all the fish and cold water was the 2 days before, but we saw that the water temp was 62 degrees top to bottom due to southwest wind pushing the warm water back in all night, so we pulled all the lines and set up off the shelf in 100 to 110 fow and started into fish right away just before daybreak. Flasher fly combos, Glo black ladderback j-plug, area 51 spoons, NBK spoon, red meat rig, gold meat rig, downiggers and dipsy's all worked, but the glo black ladderback j-plug and meat riggs got the most rips. We went 7 for 11 fish Monday morning and 19 for about 30 over the 3 days. Mix of kings coho and lakers, everything but steelhead. Good action, good time. here is a couple of pics.

GJ Tom and Pat. I love that port. Last year @ this time I was running flasher squids off Dipsys, glow Js off the riggers, and some meat rigs. The Js were the BOMB.

I wanted to go there this week, but it wasn't in the cards. I will probably be in Manistee for 3 days next week, and possibly a few days the first week in Sept. I will definitely be home over the holiday weekend.

The shark cannon balls really seemed to make a difference. the side with the temp probe got all of the action which never happened before, i think that wa due to less blow back but we also had 14lb test on that one and 20lb on the other. we really like those sharks
