  1. I went down saugatuck to visit Aaron today... and walked away with one:)

I plan to add a few more to my spread before spring.

Picked up some other spoons and a meat rig as well.

Also picked up some larger spin glows for lakers.

    How big is too big?

  2. I have ace hi and have yet to catch a fish on them.

Old school j plugs... I found a box full from when I was growing up fishing with my father and grand father... they are going in a shadow box. They are pretty beat up... but I can remember catching fish on all of them;)

The memory is worth more then the money spent buying new;)

  3. Lures and hooks............. check,

    New saftey gear for boat...........check

    extra leaders...................check

Finding someone I trust to repaint the boat ..... in progress (any suggestions)

trying to figure out a better way to mount trees..... in progress

Looking at the rods every day dreaming.... check

buying stuff and making the wife mad.... double check.

  4. Last year being my first year since I was younger fishing my own boat on the big lake. I ran a little bit of everything.

#1 J plug set up was a watermelon on a 3 color for steelies... I tried it and others all year with limited hits.

I am no expert, but I like all body baits in the top 30 feet with spoons or spinnies and flies down lower.

  5. .... What is the worst that can happen???

I know I have brought this up in the past, but I can not remember what was said.

I was looking at Great Lakes Angler today page 4 and guy is using a spinnin with a silver screwball spoon.

I am bound and determand to try this. Does anyone have any tips on making this work?

I was thinking of using a smaller sized flasher and putting it on the bottom rigger with a moonshine spoon.

The other rigger would be a spin doctor and fly.

How far do you think I should spread them verticaly to make sure they do not tangle.

  6. I know you said you do not like lead, but as other said it catches fish.

I enjoy it more then copper because it is easy to use.

One rig that caught fish for me this year was a mono high line on the outside board with a dive bomb or torpedo. I enjoy the mono long lines. Something about seeing fish come flying out of the water before you know they are hooked is just fun;)
