Hey Bud,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to answer your questions, I have been busy with my 1 year old, work and fishing.
There is a lot you need to know, but here is the skinny...

I will also send you my number if you have specific questions.

The fish have liked the rattle plugs more than the quiet ones this year on our boat.
-
The right decision was made based on safety.
-
175 main 9.9 kicker 10 to 15 gallons depending on how far I run and how hard I push on the throttle.
-
I'm ok with either. Hope to get off work to fish

Super tramp
I beielve there is a couple things going on that has lead to the issues you have brought up. First is natural attrition, It may be fair to say that we have lost more than we have gained. I have no proof of this, but it is possible. I know that over the last year I have reported less because of a multitude of personal reasons unrelated to fishing or this site. In saying that one of my resolutions this year was to get back into "sport writing" a bit more than I did last year. This includes more of the story, and pictures then exact reports. (see my first post of the year) In saying that, I am more than willing to share information if I find it prudent or helpful.
I know our core group of guys still fishes and then reports which is helpful, the time debated question is how do you get the lurkers out there to post.
I think think it is a difficult question to answer in regard to pride. If you look around this site, there are some DANG GOOD fisherman that post great reports.
Dirty Dog, Ben Lubbs, Little buck, FBD, Matt Mishler, Sniffer, and from time to time even I catch a limit or big box full. Along with many others.
Being a Lurker on this site, and seeing all these big boxes, would you want to report that you went 2 for 5 in 8 hours of fishing??
Food for thought as it is a battle that may never be won.

After a long cold winter filled with new experiences (more to come on that in a bit) and lots of school I was able to get the big ride out of storage and go searching for some fish this weekend.
Friday
I was lucky enough to fish with Dave the proud owner "Eyecracker" a great fishing set up that absolutely fly's across the water. There is something about an 18' boat with a 175 HP motor that inspires awe in any fisherman. I saw 51 MPH for the first time on open water!! That was impressive and a bit scary!
Fishing was decent as we picked our way to 7 fish and lost a handful of others. All in all it was a great day! The spoils of our work were 6 healthy Lake Michigan trout.
Saturday Morning was spent with the Killin' it Crew. After a short technical difficulty we were outside the piers to find 10-15 boats south of Holland so in typical Killin' it fashion we went North! Again the fish gods were on our side!!
Sunday Morning with a small craft advisory and 25 knot winds from the east we ventured out again and headed south... The fish gods did not reward us with browns, but did give us a wonderful spring king!
All in all a wonderful weekend on the water with great friends. Thanks Dave, Larry, Austin, and John for quality time on the water!

Russ, I am kinda disappointed to not see good old RED HEAD in your video...
Your video did hit it on the head though, you put out the size 4 and it will slay fish and size 5 will ride all day and not take hits.
Our best plug ALL season was #4 red head on a 300 copper.
