to big??
-
I got some BW stuff in the mail the other day... CANT WAIT:)
-
Do you have a close up picture of this rig?
-
Spoonfed,
What size and brand single hooks?
-
The pier and the surf around the pier is a good place to start.
Casting small spoons or body baits can can you a hen or two then start fishing spawn in small bags.
-
Mike,
Let me know if you need my help. I will have the boat in the water in march. (If the ice is gone)
-
do we know a time yet?

Does anyone use boat us?
I was thinking of picking it up.
Wife said we have towing covered under the boat insurance, but I am skeptical about it.
I would rather have the extra security blanket when its 11 pm and im in 200 fow

Tim,
I have been saving for months... so the wife can not get mad at me.

Kzoo Froze up in the lower sections
Rabbid froze up for most of the river.
Grand is mostly open
6th street looks open when driving across the bridge
Soon... less then 2 weeks and some of the smaller water will start to unfreeze.

I am with Jim on this one.. Brads cut plugs are ready to go.
The outdoorsman in Jenison has the smaller version as well.
-
Jim the question looms.... How do you know what is hot or cold...
If you only fish once a week or maybe twice....
Just throwing that out as a topic of conversation and not a personal dig.
Reading reports only tells half the story, you know this.
Aside from trusting your fishing buddies and the interwebs, It is a hard battle to pick fromt he piles and piles of gear.

How much does your starting spread REALLY change???
After talking about "name that lure" 3 or 4 lures made the top of everyones list (with some exeption).
I know running 6 rods my starting spread is usally the same lures unless I have been fishing alot and found something that has been firing more then normal. This generally happens if the wife and I are fishing together and she picks out the lures for her side of the boat.
With my 6 rod morning spread I run 2 riggers 2 divers 2 full core (copper this year)
Since I start EVERY morning in the dark my spread looks something like this.
rigger- Blue founder pounder
rigger- Double Trouble
Braid dipsey-Black silver glow fly w/ black glow spin doctor with black tape on one side
Braid Dipsey- Bush Light big weenie fly with glow beads and 10 inch blue silver spin doctor
Full core- Dreamweaver blue glow bloody nose mag
Full core - This rod is the last rod out and it gets the moody blue half moon by moonshine or the Dream weaver green glow with pink dots.
Does everyone else do the same thing and go with the ol' faithfull set up or do you leave 4 rods the same and run something differnt on the other 2.
If I am fishing with a 3rd person I will use those 3 rods to experiment. ex. Running a J plug or some differnt spoon I normaly would not run right away.

Horrible PRODUCT!!!
I have to spend more time catching fish then drinking beer;)
The only other complaint is the hooks do not come out of my finger well:)
In all honesty this was the only brand of fly on my boat last year!!
I love them todeath... They take a beating!!!

Editing my own post

I am sure this type of thread has been passed around, but I am fishing from my desk right now... 2 long lines out with cat treats and some yarn attached to my ultra light... Cat fishing is the best!!
None the less....
If you had to only run ONE spoon for your entire spread, ALL DAY, including in the dark. What would it be and WHY?
Mine:
Moonshine Blue Flounder all day ever day. It never comes off and always catchs at least one fish.
-
I will be alot next summer around mid day... heck why not:)
-
If they really cared about about the whales they would buy a sub with some torpedos and sink the jap sailing fleet.
