  1. sliders aka Saugatuck Dunes so about half way down between Holland and Saugatuck
  2. about how far down is a slide diver at 125 if you had to guess? I've never run those...
  3. beautiful - nice work sounds like them have moved up in the water column things must be cooling down!
  4. the were right hugging the bottom in that water this morning for whatever that's worth... as in like 5ft off bottom in 78-92
  5. mainly south off the sliders good luck man - post a report please!
  6. 3 for 12 same water as last night (75-90fow) fish were 70-80 down on deep dipsey and riggers with the exception of a 10 color beast that we fought and lost right at sunrise all bites on paddles and spindocters with the exception of that 10 color which was chrome red head jplug trolling direction didn't matter other guys I know did better keeping em on today
  7. went 4 for 6 deep dipsey out 130 and 120 in 78fow was magic for us tonight cryptonite paddle white paddle that was basically all we could get em to bite no... we did have a beast king smoke a hi-dipsey our 220 with frog spindocter but it broke 40 pound mono leader and left with the fly on a big run trolling direction didn't matter our biggest fish of the evening was a 27 pound male gonna give it a try again in the morning hope cold water keeps moving up in column and can get action on 5 and 10 colors
  8. fished sunrise off Holland this morning went 6 for 12 best depth was 82 fow shallest bite was 76 fow furthest out bite was 112fow seemed like the kings and coho were stacked in real nice down deep in close this AM - wish we could've landed more but we were just screwing around and having fun rigger down 90 and 95 was good copper 250, copper 300, copper 350 all went high dipsey out 225 went three times with spoon on it all spoons except on one deep rigger they liked a white paddle
  9. fantastic job! what a fun night congratulations on the biggie!
  10. thanks we caught fish running west and east didn't dare troll south because was low on fuel and didn't wanna end up in south haven was so relieved to see the waves died during the night (attached image) because boy it was rough and wind had been howling and that makes fishing in the dark even more difficult
  11. thanks for the report they seem to have scattered some... hopefully the wind pattern the next few days brings em back in!
  12. 6 for 6 only one big one double on 10color moonshine spoons on each at 540am in 86fow rigger slider went couple times 39 down 5color got a little one 10color got another little one less bait than i expected on graph we had all bites in that 85-95 fow
  13. nice work man! question: so you set lines in 120fow or did you start in closer at first? considering going tomorrow morning and debating if they will be in closer starting out...
  14. Figured why not go for 3 mornings in a row so rounded up the troops and we left the dock in Macatawa at 4.30AM this morning. Could tell before we left that it was going to get rough (and it did, especially after sunrise as the south wind really kicked in) Could tell that fishing had “changed” during the night and they probably weren’t gonna be as many in tight up high because of the warm water racing back in (yep… they were leaving as we arrived) Ended up 3 for 4. Again around that 86FOW was good. 5.30AM full core moonshine spoon purple and pink with dots – 9# chinook 5.50AM rigger slider down about 35 gets smoked – fish went ballistic and got off shortly into the fight unfortunately 6.30AM rigger slider down about 39 gets smoked – another good fish like the one at sunset last night! Had to pull lines but eventually got em! Super DARK colored Chinook that probably was 20-22# my goodness that fish had to have been in the river the day before. 7.30AM 15color moonshine spoon – Chinook Had no choice really but to troll north so eventually ended up by Kouw Park and that was an enduring run back to harbor in the end. Anybody find them out a little further or down a little deeper in the slop this morning? I fear our fun cold water pattern has come to an end for now Sure was a blast though! My oldest daughter pointed out that we had boated 30 salmon in just 48 hours (for us this was some of the best fishing ever and the only comparable I have to it goes back to 18 years ago). Anyways, everyone is a little worn out so in a way we are glad to be done. Today we are smoking salmon with our neighbor!
  15. Great solo trip! And hail to the king "Happee Meal" is the best spoon for us too
  16. thanks guys! went again this Friday morning too will post report soon hopefully
  17. fished this evening for a couple hours running back from West Olive to Holland with a bunch of my kids... went 7 for 7 Not gonna get way into it because basically the same exact moonshine spooon 85-105fow gig 20-55down we have done the last two mornings is what produced Highlight was my 12 year old reeling in a 23pounder on 10 color - it smoked it when i was reeling board in full rip and pulling lines - that kept us out there another 40min
  18. had to give it another shot this Thursday morning so left the dock in Macatawa even earlier at 4.15am. what a dense, thick fog that was along the shore all morning! fortunately it cleared when we reached 50fow Same program as yesterday got em in the dark on a north troll in that 85-90fow pretty solidly in the pitch black... once sun rose then 105fow was magic went 10for11 5color moonshine happy meal 26# king rigger 54 down moonshine spoon deep diver 95 back went 4 times with coyote echip flasher fly rigger down 47 went dolphin spoon 10core went twice moonshine spoon MONSTERS 20# both time copper200 went once moonshine spoon what a morning! well over a hundred pounds in salmon caught had a great crew onboard - two triples and a double made it nuts!
  19. how'd you do JDH? we smoked em! report coming...
  20. alright - cya out there - radio Parker on 68 and we can compare
  21. Left the dock at 4.45am in Lake Mac Setting lines in 80fow trolling north at 5.10am and the half-core immediately goes off (moonshine happy meal) – 10# king Over the next hour we could not get lines in hardly Half-core went again and that time a 22# hen Copper 200 with moonshine magnum spoon went 3 times – got em all – approx. 10# kings High dipsey got smoked at with blue & chrome spindoctor and blue fly a 20.5# hen At 6.40am which was still 15min before sunrise we were 6 for 6 and pretty happy about things. The is the best early fishing in the dark bite I have encountered (usually they don’t turn on until about 15min before sunrise?) We fished through sunrise and then a little more. Copper 200 went off two more times – got one and missed one Rigger took one 54 down with dancing anchovy spoon 15color went off moonshine mag spoon – about a 14# coho Ended up 9 for 10 …with a bite like this may have to try again tomorrow morning but this time I will leave the dock at 4.15am :) buddy of mine caught a nice big chinook in 15fow off Saugatuck this AM heard rumblings about them slaughtering them in the mud off GH hard to know what to do exactly with these colder water temps but we are thankful for how it went today
  22. nevermind... I see you were in 103... sorry reRead it a second time and now I get it. Thanks
  23. Nice job! So about how many FOW were you fishing when you got those two biggens? From your report I gather you were in close but I want make sure....
  24. yes - very good report and nice job! I went with a couple guys last night as well on a different boat and we good SKUNKED - fishing can be humbling like that we trolled mainly outside 200fow and lost 6 rips - everything that could've gone wrong did...
