Other than to eliminate the events out of South Haven and make them all out of the port of Holland. With that said here are our rules to play by for this season. • Shot gun at 6 am , all boats need to be with in 1/4 mile of the pier heads and pull lines at Noon . Gentleman's honor to pay. Please pay if you are signed up. If you are having issues please contact me, so that I know not to look for you at the scale. 7. All teams must start from the port of Holland. 8. If two members are fishing together, than the boat they are fishing out of gets the point. 9. Follow all other State and Federal Laws. The captain is responsible for his crew. Keep it safe. 10. Blow date will be the following day. 11. No charter Capt. and or current first mates. 12. All Capt. must PM me a cell phone number for safety reasons. You do NOT need to fish all events to partake in this league. As in years past ,there will be a trophy awarded to the "Points Champion" at the end of the season . The season Points champion will be the team with the best 3 scores for the season. Look for the season schedule later this evening.
  9. I generally run them if straight out the back around 40', if there on down rods around 30ish' and if off the boards between 20-30'. All based on water depth and current speed. And yes the same color schemes as you would with warts and tots, I do like a little more chartreuse with them for what ever reason, such as the mad clown.
  10. So now that the holidays are all over and we are coming up on February, that means it's not to early to start thinking about this coming season. This year the only change at this point is that all of our tournaments will be run from Holland , do to lack of participation in South Haven. I am also working on contacting all of our previous sponsors and have a couple committed and would like one to replace the Always great Pyle's Port Hole that is now closed in south haven. Anyhow , please keep checking back for updates and I should have the rules and schedule for this season posted in the next couple weeks. The sponsors that are is so far for this season are Morgan's Tackle, Big Weenie Brand and Silver Streak, thanks to all of these guys for helping out.

  12. The 3.0 map lips are amazing in the river for steelhead , and the 3.5's work awsome for lakes , run them short and the ball 5' off bottom.
  13. Historically this time of year you seldom fish south and not a lot farther north than tunnel park.
  14. Straigh out for the most part , and no farther north than tunnel park.
  15. Well after not leaving the slip for close to a month I got the chance to get out. Left the slip. at 9ish and returned at 2 and finishing 15-18 with 14 griller Kings, and a nice 10 lbs steelhead. Best area was straight out in 130-155 with nearly any direction working , not a clue what the down speed was , batteries in the probe were dead so I did it old school and set the gps speed at 2.7 and left it. As far as what works here the list Super Screw on a 150 copper Miami Dolphin on a 200 copper Double Dutch on a 250 copper U of M frog on a rigger at 50 Blue Mango on a 200 copper Home made Craig's Steelhead on a 300 copper All of these were standard size Silver Streaks on 30 lb copper. And the important part, the pics of the catch, best part was I had my dad and my old buddy Something Fishy.
  16. Yup my dad and myself went out and took 50 good gills in a couple hrs time, but ours were over 45' of water 3-5' down. The bites been on around here for about a month.
  17. I would start at 100 and go sw and work you way back in as it gets dark so that you are in 70 at dark.
  18. Not sure what happend , but the pictures of the fish disappeared. So hear are a coupe
  19. Well after being asked by a few members why I don't post reports anymore , and a few wishing I still would here is my report from yesterday . I left the dock with 2 good freinds around 6;30 and headed nw to 90 fow , best being 115-125 by far,, and set up with plugs and standard size spoons on coppers , and spoons on the rigger and spinners on the divers. We fished till noon and finished 9-11 with 5 nice kings with the largest being 17lbs and 4 nice steelhead with the largest in the 9 lb class. Troll direction really didn't matter as long as the down speed was around 2.6-2.9. Hear is a list of what took fish. Size 3 mother of pearl with black dot silver hoard on a 250 copper , THIS WAS BEST Size 3 Michle Jackson silver hoard on a 300 copper Standerd size Lemon Berry Silver Steak on a 200 copper Stander size S.O.G Silver Steak on a 250 copper and a chrome Mountain Dew Spin Dr on a high diver back 250 And with that said hear is a few pictures from yesterday. This was toms first ever last Michigan Chinook Sorry for not posting pictures of the lures like in the past , but as many of you know ,my boat is now in a slip and I did not have any paper of sharpies to do this , maybe next time
  20. I set up with one side high and one side fishing deeper, and zig Zag over it to determine wich side is better , Sunday it was the warmer side or rite on top of it . I almost always fish it with medium to smaller size spoons.
  21. The area you are speeking of was a very sharp temp break , it was there Sunday also. I fished this area and pulled a very nice box of 2 steelhead , 5 kings, 2 coho and a few small suspended lake trout for a total of 11 ,all on standerd size spoons with coppers rangeing from 100-250 . Lemon berry, Jerry Lee, u of m frog and metalic green glow frog were the best. The temp in the warm side , being the deeper side was 64 , and on the inside it was 50. This changed over less than 50yds.
