  1. Need quality ball bearing swivels to prevent twist. Also, do you know what brand of line and lb test you're using? When I started I was doing the rubber band method on blacks releases, then I got rid of the rubber bands and just use the blacks. No problems in 11 years of big lake fishing for me.
  2. Great job. Fished south of you, 2 of us ended up 9 for 11 all steel. We're trying to pack lines up after our limit and ended up picking three more up. 3 color and regular divers back 35 worked well for us with spoons.
  3. Got a good one recently while jigging in the boat for whitefish.
  4. Welcome. Most people active on the site fish Holland and Port Sheldon. Some good reports on here in the summer.
  5. Good to hear the fish are still around. Thanks for the report!
  6. Was thinking about heading out this afternoon, but my gear is a mess after an Northern Ontario walleye trip. I understand a good number of fish are out in 180-220.
  7. Ran back to Pt Betsie and set up in 80. Hit 2 kings right at 9:30. Lost the bigger one right behind the boat. Ended the day 5/8. Long day on the water, but amazing scenery and great weather.
  8. Decided they weren't coho. We did pick up one coho on a plug up high and 2 more lake trout.
  9. What lures am I supposed to be using?
  10. Pods of dozens of bigger fish north end of West Platt Bay. 6 fow. Cannot get them to bite.
  11. Been out fishing since 2 pm. Started north of Pt Bestie and worked around into West Platte. Now working around to the east side of West Platte to go around to East Platte. Not marking too much but most markets have been in 50-70 fow. 1/2 right now. Got a small laker on a flasher fly.
  12. Nothing. Just tough conditions with the flip. Bait is on the beach or out past 200, maybe 300 feet of water.
  13. We tried that in Saugatuck for an hour with nothing. Then we switched up and trailered to Grand Haven. Ended up 5/7 in Grand Haven. 4 kings and a coho. All kings cought in 45 fow on plugs in front of the piers. One hour of chaos from 8 to 9 pm.
  14. Worked from 100 to 150 fow with a deep meet program. Nothing. And marking nothing deep. Switched to a shallow coho program and got 1 right away 35 down on a flasher fly. Meat rig just fired on diver back 55 feet. Worked 150 to 200 and back into 130 now.
  15. Tried a few passes as suggested but got nothing. Heading in. Going to run up to Grand Haven this afternoon.
  16. Lost another one on a plug. How to make these fish bite in the sun?
  17. Got an 18 lb hen on chrome red head plug. And just picked up a second brighter hen at 18.2 lbs.
  18. Fishing the pier heads. 0/1 so far. Marking good numbers of fish.
  19. Tried mooching at Manistee this evening. Had some chasers, but didn't get any takes.
  20. Got some and lost some this morning. Some jigging, some on skein.
  21. Yes. A few fish around, but water is mid 70s so they're not in much of a biting mood.
  22. Spending a week at a cottage with family up north. Had to bring the boat. Checked off jigging up a king tonight. Part of my yearly checklist. Might try mooching again Thursday.
  23. Full moon glow spoon program. Slow I guess? Hit a real nice coho at 10:30, a 13 lb king at 11:00, and had a big fish on the diver for an initial run, and then gone. Pulled lines at 12:30
  24. Was a tough bite for me tonight. I'm thinking I should have checked out 150-200 fow.
  25. Had another 2 fish swim in and attack? Enough of that. Glow spoon program is set. Trolling time.
