  1. Next,... from today 5/7/15 is a MOPAR! This was at one of my stops, the good guys out at More Power Inc. in Sparta. The owner is a airline pilot and from what he told me he has a stable of badd arse Mopars. Hemi's, 440 6bbl's, and this 1970 "Panther Pink" 318 'Cuda conv. It's actually his wife's car. It's been repainted more of a "girly" pink because she didn't like the original shade of pink the factory used. This car is really rare not only because of the color, but this drop top even has AC !!
  2. Well, its fishing time so I will leave you guys just a few more cars. First off is a 1960 Corvette. Yes, not really a "muscle car" but cool none the less. This car was at my friend's shop (Curless Auto Repair). 283ci, two 4 barrel carbs, and a 3 speed manual. All original! Quite the combo!!
  3. Thanks for the info fellas. I might have to try one. I'm leaning towards the all species(medium size) one. Some videos say smear a small amount of grease or suntan lotion around the inside to help it slide on and off but I'm not to keen on that.
  4. Yea or nay? And what size would be best for your typical salmon rods(okuma/diawa). Any feedback is appreciated.
  5. Here is a real doozie. One of Ron's other cars. This is a really cool piece believe it or not. Its a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible. Unfortunately, the original 455 engine has long been gone and the car needs TOTAL restoration, but..... it's one of 232 units produced that model year. Numbers matching, mint condition '70 Stage 1 convertibles can bring 6 digit sale prices! As you can see this one has been sitting for Oh,... about 20 years or so. It's in his trailer so I couldn't get any real good pics. Big Daddy Ron will get her restored someday(hopefully).
  6. Mart Jeltema's other mustang. This car has a 305 cubic inch engine that turns 10,000 rpms. Yes,..I said 10,000 !! Runs in the 8 second range on the motor! He is a Ford buff for sure so if any of you guys ever have any Ford questions or problems, give me a shout and Ill get with MJ.
  7. This is one of my friend Ron's cars. Ive known Ron for like 25 years and I actually work for him currently. '70 1/2 Z28. Don't ask me why its 1970-n-1/2 and not just 1970 but there is some kind of reason for it. I'm sure the Camaro enthusiasts know. He has owned this thing like forever, rarely drives it.
  8. The Buick motor was a 430ci I bet ya. The 400-430-455 are in the same family and all made good power and torque. You put a 430 in that small body GS and that dog will hunt.
  9. My buddy/co-worker Mart Jeltema's mustang. This was a NHRA class record holder back in the day. He and his son Kyle still race it a few times each season. Mart has another stang that Ill post in a couple days or so. I don't want you Ford guys to get to spoiled.
  10. My buddy Dan's mustang. (Holland Automotive Machine)
  11. Jeff, Did you try Van's sport center in GR. They might buy it for parts or something. How much are you asking for it, Ill ask around.
  12. Jeff, Get ready to spend ALOT of money. I bet a good USED lower unit will still cost 1500+ dollars(and that would be on the cheap side). I'm no expert but if you hit that hard I don't know if a new/used unit would still be able to bolt up to the main part of the body. ??? If you do have insurance might be worth a whole new/used/replacement engine. My insurance would not cover hitting a submerged object. Good luck bud,...I fear your going to need it.
  13. Thank you brother! It was a great night on the water. I don't remember what time it was(maybe around 9:45pm) when JD said we will fish 'til 10:30pm then call it a night. 10:29pm rod goes off!! Big Kang goes in the box and,.......that's all folks, were out! Bottom of the ninth, 2 out, walk off home run. Perfect!
  14. Bob, When you say dip in batter, is it just the dry batter or is it the liquid(water added to batter)? Thanks -kid
  15. Ya that must have been you Mike at the station. I read it again on the internet someplace. Dude, I got hammered that night! Ill check into that buggspray stuff. Thanks again fellas!
  16. Thanks guys. So far the best advice is to were long pants. Vics vapor rub around the ankles has been mentioned also. ??
  17. Got out a bit early from work and headed out fishing. Had lines in around 6pm (give or take)and fished til dark. Water was pretty calm and the weather was nice. The fishing was tough though and the biting flies were worse! Almost drove me to the brink of madness. We ended up 2 for 3(one small King, decent LT). Both came on 270 copper with a purple spoon(don't know the name). King in about 125 fow, LT in 83 fow. Side note: Check your rod eyelets once in a while. I lost a brand spankin' new Spin Doctor/Fly combo when I went to pop my rigger clip. Half the ceramic insert was missing,..cut my line like a knife! If any of you fine gentleman come across a Big White Hammer SD floating around,......... PS.- What do you guys/gals use to combat them dam flies!!??
  18. Thanks to all that put this event on. This was my first time at a WMFL event. "King Possible" did real good and I want to give a big thanks to my captain JD!! I definitely will buy some more Silver Streak products in the near future. Tight lines brothers -kid
