  2. Im a big fan of single hooks. Try taking a treble hook and pulling it thru a piece of paper, then a single hook. You will notice the single hook goes thru alot easier. Less contact points. Also easier to sharpen and you can really get a fine point. I like my flys/squids to have double single hooks. I've switched all my spoons to single hooks at one time only to change them back to trebles. I noticed I wasnt getting as many hits on some of the single hook spoons. Was thinking maybe it was because they were giving or taking away the action on them. Also interested in what others have to say.

  3. There is only one launch. Dont know where your coming from, best I can tell yah is try a google or mapquest search for Gold Coast Outfitters. The launch is just north from them on butternut rd. On your way out stay a little more to the left or south side till you notice the drop off into the lake on your sonar. Its kinda shallow in there but with this rain we've had it might not be as bad. Good Luck.

  4. Nice Job Phil,Terry, Adam and crew. I went back out after the morning trip and we went 6-9 in 60-80 fow again. Got soaked but we were catching fish. 5 color Mag. Fuzzy bear glo green dolphin took 2, 7 color same spoon took 3, and 1 on pro troll flasher chrome purple firecracker fly on rigger 12 back down 51. The fish we lost were all on these set-ups/ lures to. They seemed to be the only thing they wanted out of a 10 rod set up. Terry, I know youve got alot of offers from people to fish with but if you ever cant find anyone and want to go im here dont hesitate to ask. I think im gonna go to sleep now and then call some doctors.

  5. Fished with my nephew and Rdfishin this mornin from 5-10am went 11-15 w/2 coho. Just about everything I had in the water went off. Riggers down 40-55 with moonshine yellow flounder,hi-nrg, later on got one on chrome pro troll w/ purple sparkler fly down 50 back 15. Dipseys set 3 out 75-100 w/ fuzzy bear mag. glo green dolphin spoon and black green fishcatcher w/ sea foam fly? (the one from the stinger challenge). Dipseys set 1 1/2 out 100 w/ clear glo SD green squid, Glo blu holo crush SD w/ glo blue bubble fly. 5 color core with moonshine widowmaker, 7 color core with yellow flounder, 10 color core flounder pounder. Had 4 on at one time, fished 50-80 fow south, south troll was best. Got kinda crazy just as the sun was coming up was down to 3 rods in the water out of 9. Great fishing with yah again Roger.

  6. Thanks Mike and MI. Stinger for setting this up! Fishing coulda been a little better for us but my son and I had a great time this weekend. We caught our 3 fish on only the orange spoons Killer Tangerine 7 core and Chicken Wing 10 color (took 2). Missed about 4 other fish. We fished from 50-150 fow spending most of our time in around 100-114 a little north. Went out Fri. evening for a few just out to 75 fow then right back in (0 for a real close 1, bad net job on my part was a real nice fish 2) and I found out I had forgotten my flasher fly boxes that I would have used for that day and Sunday. Had to pay my sister $40 to bring them up to me Fri. night and never even used them due to Sundays tournament cancellation.:(. Was nice hangin out and fishing with yah Roger as allways. Bout halfway home I started kicking myself for leaving so soon and not taking Mike up on his offer to take us out. Thanks again Mike and everyone else involved. Nice Job Annmetcalf! Cazman! and Mariner!

  7. Fished with Huntingfool this morning started at 5am finished at 6:58am with our 2 man limit of 6 kings. Set lines in 60 fow trolled out to 80 fow on a sw troll and never made it past about 87 fow. First fish came in 80fow as i was getting the last rod out on Mag. Yellow Flounder Pounder back 20 down 40 loc on rigger. From there its kinda a blurr. Took two on Blue Holo crush SD w/ Glo Blue Bubble fly dipsey set 1-1/2 out 120. One on Glo Blue Holo Crush SD w/ Glo Blue Bubble fly dipsey set 2 out 130. And 2 on White Fishscale Pro Troll w/ Glow Ghost Fly on rigger back 10 down 55 loc. Had 2 doubles. Lost one on 7 color core w/ Mag. Widowmaker Moonshine other than that the 2 cores were dead. Hottest set up id say was the Yellow Flounder on rigger Steve had it go off as he was putting the rod in the holder. I could be off on our lost fish ratio by a few seemed like non stop action.

    Great Fishing with yah Steve its allways nice to have someone on board to help reel up those riggers and set them back down. Thanks again for joining me.

  8. Whoopssssss :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Nice report Mike! Any size to the fish? Did you ever get a replacement probe for your depth raider? What was the down temp? Thermocline????

    Sheesshhhh.....Sounds like I am writing a book :D

    One was 16-15 lbs., 2 were 12-10 lbs.,and other 3 were about 8-6 lbs.

    I noticed my downrigger go bump but the rod never released and i was thinking one hit my rigger ball. Then a few minutes later it starts bumping again, im thinking wth is going on it cant be bottom im only down 61 feet in well over 100 fow. Well being the smart guy i am i figured out my release was stuck so i reeled up a really nice fish to the surface by my manual rigger when it got to the surface it pulled the end of my walker release right off handed the rod off and my dad fought it for a few minutes but was doing his jimmy houston impersonation that he likes to do and it got off.

    No replacement probe yet, best part about it is he still owes me 500 for the thing in the first place so that probably wont be happening this year and it will be a miracle if it happens at all. I know im not buying it.

    Noticed clutter from my sonar from 40 down in some places and from 60 down in others. Found a few small scum lines running north/south past 100 fow. Saw 3 fish surface. Figured my 5 core would go for sure. prolly shoulda got out a 2 or 3 core instead.

  9. Went out this morning from 6:30-12:30 went 7-11 w/one laker for a 2 man limit. Fished 80-155 fow. Ran a 5 color core the whole time nothin happenin on that. 7 color with the Blue Dolphin watermelon Mag. NK that we used in the NK event took one. 10 color with flounder pounder took 1 early and a Silver Streak Mag. Blue Dolphin took 1 later on. Got 1 on Blue Holo Crush SD w/ Glo blue bubble fly dipsey set 1-1/2 out 120. Got 2 on Blue Bubble SD w/ Blue Bubble fly set 2 out 130. 1 on white fish scale 11" pro troll flasher w/ siggs riggs glow ghost fly on rigger 10 back down 61 we lost 2 others on this as well, this flasher fly combo has caught fish everytime i've used it, Thanks Mike(GLF). Surface temps were 72-74 deg. out to 155 fow. Caught fish going all directions. Took pictures but left the memory card to my camera in my computer here at home.:cool: Be back out tomorrow.

  10. I am pretty sure Fishermans Landing is $20 for a site w/water and elect. and $15 for the tent area.

    Im in for a $20 table. What time are we going to be playing? I was under the impression we would play right after eating. I hope we can do this cause I kinda have plans to go back out fishing later in the evening in muskegon lake. I can set the alarm on my phone to go off every 15-20 minutes for blind raises to keep things moving.
