Last fish was a 7-8lb. steel in 110 fow on 10 color w/mongoose j-plug. Fished from 7am-noon.Nick did you see any jumping? From 60 fow out to about 100 fow we were seeing quite a few jumping/surfacing all around us up until about 9am.

  3. I started using squids halfway thru this year and will probably always run at least one now. The ones I used are made by magna dyne. I've been running them with spin doctors, the clear yellow/glo or green/glo spin doctor or the white crush glo with green glo squid rigged the same as a fly about 22-24 inches from flasher to squid has been really good for me. I like that they dont get all mangled and matted up after catching a fish like some fly's do. Ive bought pretty much all the colors from magna dyne but have only used the green/glo.

  4. Last night at THE BOBs I had a Grand River water drink. It had 7 different liqures in it and when they gave it to me they told me good luck. I had it gone with in 2 minutes and I asked for another one and they gave the next one free and said they call a cab. :D

Man the Grand River water is good

    Cazzzz:cool:

    lol. Happy Birthday Rich!

  5. Thanks for all your hard work this year in setting these up and getting them running Rich,I know you spend alot of time on these and you do a great job.I/We had alot of fun!. It went by to fast tho. Thanks to all that worked on getting sponsors and the sponsors themselves for some very nice prizes! Also Thanks to GLF and this site!. Had a really fun spring/summer meeting and fishing with members from this site.

  6. hey mike i talked to sea-mac today and he seems to think the key to landing big fish is to invite me along but after last sundays tourney i think its better to just let the girls do all the fishing and the guys just drive and net lol

No No...what I said is the key to getting a big one in your boat is bring you along. Big Difference.

Nailer is right tho kids and women have that gentle touch. Biggest fish on my boat this year was 17.8 pounds caught by a 15 yr. old on his first time out. My nephew and son that are 10-11 have landed quite a few fish over 15 pounds as well this year. Now I just take it as, if it was meant to happen it was meant to happen, kinda thing. No pumping on lead core to as plumkrazy stated.

  7. I tie a leader to the bead chain about 6" long so that I can use my regular swivel but the plug can still work its way up.

Brilliant! TY Bob! I was cutting off my swivels then retying them on my leadcore leader everytime id do the switch from spoon to plug. At the point now I should prolly reapply new leadcore leaders again. Done this about 4 times allready this year. Thanks again.

  8. If i have question as to what type between coho/chinook i quickly count the anal rays. 13-15 for coho and 15-17 for chinooks. It helps to keep a Michigan Fishing Guide in your boat stored somewhere, very easy to do. Lake trout have all kinds of different regulations depending on where your fishing at. Nother good reason to have the book onboard. Heres a quote from book on lake trout. "The daily possession limit for lake trout and splake is 5 in any combination, but no more than 3 of any one species." LOL hope this helps.
