Yes good call Rich. I kno i was planning on pre fishing anyways and helping out or getting help from others to cover more water to figure the fish out is a bonus. Great idea on the big fish prize to. Congradulations to you and your daughters as well.

We will be fishing there saturday weather permitting. Rdfishin you want to join us on saturday morning june 23rd?
-
My two favorites so far this year have been chrome/ chrome pro troll w/ Horse Fly purple firecracker that i been running on rigger 15'-17' back, and Blue Bubble spin doctor w/ Bugeye Fly-Alewife on my first set of dipseys.
-
Its lookin pretty grim for me as far as the weather forecasts for l. mich., if it turns out to be nice tho ill be out there prolly port sheldon again. If its gonna be cloudy rain and thunderstorm ill be on some inland lake trying to get my 5 pounder for the year.

I have some at 5 foot that ive got 2 fish on this yr. and i been using them fixed with (stacker stickers) its like a wax coated swivel that keeps it from sliding down that i attach about 5-10 foot above the ball.I was thinking they should be producing more because of the lures im running on them are going on other set ups at about the same depth and match my lure on my main line cept smaller, and ive been on other boats that take alot of fish on free sliders/fixed. I run a smaller lighter spoon cause of the fear of a mag. spoon dropping faster on turns. What i meant about on the turns was the lures dropping/falling down from the fixed position where its attached to the main line then not being able to rise back up, not as a free slider but in a fixed position sry for confusion. Ill try some at 4 foot an see what happens. I was thinking i should go longer to seperate the fish from the boat a little more and to put that lure a little closer to the one on the main line. I kno every boat is different and i need to find what works what on mine, but damn those manual riggers. Thanks for the replys.

How long of a lead do you guys use for your stacker/slider length? And also is it true that when making a turn your free sliders and stackers will drop and then not rise back up? And have any of you had luck with stacking a dipsey?

Ive been doing pretty good with my dipseys this year (chrome) with 4 foot 30lb. flouro leads on my flasher/fly then 21-22 inches behind flasher. With straight mag. spoon behind dipsey been doing good with 6 foot leads using 20 lb. flouro. Last trip out I hooked up more on dipseys than the lead cores. I like to use the 12 inch clear snubbers over the colored snubbers or no snubber at all.

So close but no cigar!!! I was determined to stay out there till we got that bugger but my dads friend was wanting to go and threating to throw all my tackle in the water.

Went out with my dad and his buddy Mark. Hit the water at about 7am and headed out to 130fow and set up going west a little north, had 4 fish in the box by the time we got to 180 fow. Turned around to go east and picked up 1more 12lbs. (biggest of the day). West troll was the best troll (Just as rdfishin predicted for me, thanks buddy) Ended up going 9-11 with one steelhead. Around 11am we couldnt get anything going and just needed one more. Pulling the lines in at 2pm to call it a good day we had one on the 7 color w/ monkey puke but lost her.Ugh. Took 2 fish on spinnie/fly the rest on spoons blue dolphins /green dolphins/ michigan blueberry. 5,7,10 color cores/dipseys out 120-210 and riggers down 50-70 all took fish. Beautifull day for fishing!!

Went fishing with my dad and chris up north and had an awesome day fishing. We all got our limits of bass in the 14-18" range. Using wacky rig senkos and purple shad culprit plastics (i use the red dye on the tail end of these and turn them into a firetail and splash on a little crawfish scent.. deadly) Was alot of beds but didnt see any fish on them.. either they were done, or they spooked off from seeing our boat before we could see them. Caught alot of fish jus off the drops and smaller ones about every cast in the shallows. We also picked up one 14" smallie and 2 perch, one going 12". Also had 2 pike snap my line. Was a perfect cloudy overcast opening day.

Almost ashamed to report this to you guys but what the hay. With the rough waves today/ sunday we played around in lake mac and in the channel with hopes for walleye. Inside the channel near the south side rocks we caught a 31 pound carp on 15 lb. test w/ a fuzzy bear glow blue dolphin spoon. This fish had eyes the size of golf balls. 2 master angler awards in one day.
