Thanks for the info. Looks like a trip to bait shop is in order!

I catch 80% of fish on my riggers. I use braid divers with flourocarbon leaders around 8 ft. long. I have 2 diver rods setup exactly the same with the exception of the diver color and braid color. One of them has not had a rip all year. The one that gets hit has green braid and chrome walker dipsy and the other turd has black braid and had a pink diver that I switched to a white diver. I think the turd rod just has some bad joojoo.

Going north this weekend to try some new waters. Can anyone give me information on fishing out of Petoskey/Mackinaw. Going to be using 4 downriggers and braid dipseys. I normally run out of Port Sanilac and that's pretty much a spoon only program over there. I have a bunch of spinny/flasher fly set ups and some plugs. Just trying to figure out a what guys are using to shorten the learning curve up there. Thanks!

Well since everyone likes the 124's i bought one. Had to have a convector and rod to go with it too. Gotta love northwoods:)

I have only run the 107's. Chart says with 150 foot of line out I am running 50 ft. down. That is with it set to 2.

This is a great site, and you will never see the bickering or putting down of others like you do on some forums.
Enjoy your stay!

Sweet fish. I saw a dead one in port sanilac a few weeks back. It was 5ft plus and about 80lbs. First i had seen. Cool looking fish. Congrats to your stepson!

Went 4 for 10. 90-110 ft. Monkey puke, blue dolphin, orange chilly willy, and orange crush got some play. We had my boats first double. Caught a pig lake trout, nice coho, walleye, and a steelhead. We lost a monster after a 20 minute fight with first timer on rod. It was heart breaking, but she reeled in the pig laker later. Bite died at 7 completely when storm was on horizon. Great day.

Couldn't you just try calling fishlander charters?
-
I had to watch it again! I have always wondered how many sniffers there are. Some smart fish out there.

You might want to call Rob and tell him about it.

Sounds like some sort of scam!!

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing. It is really cool to see how the fish react when they get close.

I don't run copper, so don't have info about that.
Tell him it's your birthday and to buy ya what you want!!

You guys sure do get into some big fish over there. Congrats!

Today did not go well. Waves were 2 foot or less when we got there at 5:30. Caught a nice steelhead and a little coho right off the bat in 75 fow. Broke my number one rule of leavin fish to find fish. Figured we could come back to 75 later. Well the waves built to 4's with the occasion 5 and 6 which tossed around the pop can. Better than sitting home though. Steelhead came on blue dolphin down 68. The coho came on a free slider orange crush. Could not find the bait balls past 90.

Blue dolphin has been one of my best producers so far along with orange crush and orange chilly willy. Just picked up some more today. Gonna run the crap put of those tomorrow. Thanks for the hints:) BIll

Your best bet is to check the dnr fishing report for those 2 places.
