Definitely was not the news I wanted to hear yesterday! They will pick up a replacement for the year though.

I put the tracks on to make minor adjustments if needed. I also take the riggers and rod holders off so that people don't decide they like my stuff more than I do.
-
I have an extra 18 in traxtech track that I will not be using brand new in package with hardware. pm me if interested.

Dogfish would be the perfect warm water predator to take of the asian carp young.

Looks like a great boat!

I have a champion 4000 max generator. Mine is not the electric start though. Bought it from Cabelas on sale for 299. It starts right up and is pretty quiet. Had it over a year but have never had to really use it. I start it up every now and again to let it warm up. I bought it to use if the power ever goes out for an extended period of time. Haven't had that happen since the purchase.

My shift/throttle controls are stiff too. You can try to inject wd40/other penetrant via syringe into the end of the cable and see if that works. If that doesn't work replacing them is the only other option I know of. I need to take care of mine this winter.

I will be ice fishing quite a bit. I also have to get my 9.9 prokicker all hooked up. New humminbird 788 combo should be here on Wednesday, so I have to install that too. Need to put in a new cd player and a new ship-to-shore. Geeze now that I think about it I better get crackin before the hard water.

I have a monark 190 king. Which is just an aluminum boat. I have a 9.9 mercury prokicker. I am just going to clamp the kicker on like usual. I ended up getting a piece of diamond plate for the outside of the transom. Still looking for the plate to go on the inside of the transom so I don't scratch sent up the boat tightening the hold down screws. Don't know why I am having a hard time finding one. My lund came with an inner kicker plate.

I am looking for a kicker plate so my prokicker doesnt scratch up/dent both sides of the transom. I have googled and failed to find much. Anyone know of a place that makes a nice piece? Found one guy who makes them on ebay, but the outer transom piece is going to be too small. I do have a piece of 1/8 inch stainless that I could make work. Just rather buy due to lack of thiime right now.
Thanks,
Brandon

Thanks prop nut!
I ended up buying the prokicker with the 25 inch shaft. Has power tilt so I do not think I will have a hard time getting the kicker clear of the water while main is in use.

I went to gander mountain and bought all of their display swivels. Paid 27 for berts swivels and 39 for the traxstech 6 inch swivels. Go to your local gander and check it out.

I ran a 4 horse 4 stroke as a kicker on my 16.5 lund side console with a 90 horse main motor. In calm water it would push the boat 6.2 mph. It sipped gas. Could troll all day on 1 gallon. I think the 5 would be fine for walleye fishing boat kicker.

Great looking mount!

Thanks everyone! Looks like I am buying Jay D's 06 Mercury 9.9 Prokicker with the extra long shaft.
-
Thanks guys! if anyone has a line on a 20 or 25 inch shaft 4 stroke between 8hp and 9.9 hp let me know. Brand not a concern.

You sure do take nice pictures! Pretty sure my Blackberry could not take pics like that

Thanks Sherman!
I have a 125 hp merc on my new boat. I want to put a kicker on it but from the top of the transom to the bottom of the hull where the kicker will go is 23 inches. I am limited to motors if I have to use a extra long shaft. I am trying to not use a jack plate.

Mercs are advertised as 20 inches for the long shaft, but I read that they are longer than the advertised 20 inches. Have you measured yours, or are you going by the advertised length?
Thanks

I read that Mercury outboards have a longer long shaft than some of the other outboard manufacturers. I just need someone with a merc long shaft to measure where it would sit on the transom down to the top of the cavitation plate. Thanks in advance.

Tony,
Congrats on selling the Striper! I saw Eyefull yesterday driving through Clio. I am sure the new owner will be very happy.

The kicker is I had just gotten my Lund outfitted last winter for the big water and never even got the boat wet. Had some family issues and chose to sell it with new tracks, riggers, bert rod holders, etc. Now I am starting all over. I do have a better big water platform with my new boat though:) It is kinda fun transforming a boat into a fishing machine. Just wish the new boat had atleast one thing done already when I bought it!

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up going with the Humminbird 788 ci combo. It was on sale at Gander for $499 at gander plus another $50 off if you spent $250. Total with tax it was $476. I couldn't pass that up. Another thing to check off my list of things I need for the new boat!

If i remember correctly that motor self grenaded quite often. Google it and I think you'll find enough to make your decision.
Good Luck!
