I have installed 2 newer humminbirds and they are a breeze to install, The first one I installed took a few hours and the one I just installed last week took less time. That was with removing and replacing a panel to nicely hide the wiring.

I should have hooked it to a battery when I first got it because I bought it in November from Gander Mountain and they only return/exchange things for 90 days. I am sure humminbird will take care of me though. They had me up and running when my 737 ci combo bit the dust on my last boat.

Decided to hook up my new Humminbird 788 ci combo today. Ripped out the old lowrance and hooked up the new bird. Everything went smooth and easy throughout the install. Power on the unit and I get beeps and the buttons light up but no screen. I figured maybe it was the constant power source I used with a three amp fuse so I straight wired it to a charged battery and I got the same thing. Looks like I got one with a bad headunit.

The dash is black. I figured when it was on I could just keep glove box open.

Thanks guys! Only thing I was worried about was overheating the unit due to lack of airflow.

With the nice weather here I figured I better get my butt in gear. I need to mount my new vhf radio. I am not finding a great spot to mount it. Can I mount it in my glove box? There is plenty of room to make sure the cooling fins wont be too close to anything. I am hoping it won't be a problem. Don't chat on the radio. Just for safety measures.

Looks great! I would either give the fish sharp teeth, or lose them altogether. The buck teeth make it look like your boat is getting schooled by Gomer Pile (sp).

You are right on with what they picked. Phil (big guy) picked me out a glow poofster combo, a poofster combo, and an artic blast uv combo. This year I plan to fish the sag bay less and huron and michigan more. Hopefully they will put some fish in the cooler for me. They look great! How does the bloody nose combo do? Being a car guy it sparked my interest with the flame paint job!

I have one 3 rod bird tree from Michigan Stinger. It is brand new and I will not be using it. Pm if interested.

I was there last night. I bought a few silver streak spoons from Wolverine. I also bought three paddle fly combos from big weenie along with one of their flies where the proceeds went to animal rescue. Without big weenie I would have been very disappointed.

Rain X's purpose is to have the water bead and run off the glass quickly. When you have rain x on your car windshield, you normally don't have to use the wipers. I don't know if it helps keep condensation off, but it will quickly run off once you get to speed.

My Monark King has the same backseat. Folds down into a casting platform. Perfect for fun days on the lake with the kids. Also gives the boat a pleasure boat feel when you want. It was one of the things that sold me on the boat. Congrats on the new rig!
