  1. I would have rather been on the water instead of being at work all day Thanks for the report.
  2. My wife and I was talking yesterday. This summer I have to work 3rd shift because our sitter is going to Alaska. This will save us $200 a month in day care. She said if I sold my truck and stayed on 3rd shift I could get a boat. Now how would I pull a boat without a truck? So, I had to ask her, "How would I pull a boat without a truck?" Her answer was "with a boat in a slip I would not need a truck to pull it". I am not sure if she realizes what she is getting into. Maybe someone spoke to her about this thread Maybe she is playing her own fishing game with me..... I may have to ask her if she is serious. I like the truck, but I would like a boat more If only it was true................
  3. On an outboard, if the water is coming out the pee hole(thats what I have always known it as), then its working. I am not sure about an I/O
  4. A full core is just shy of fitting on it with 200 yds of 25lb Big Game for a backing. If you use a super line, there should not be any problem with 200 yds of backing and a full core.
  5. I have heard a lot of good feed back about the site. Our goal is to be the #1 Great Lakes fishing resource on the internet. I will be breaking the lake fishing reports down by states when we have more members and lots of fishing reports rolling in. ie....Lake Michigan Fishing Reports will have an Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin sections. I am looking for ideas on how to make this site better than what it all ready is. What would you like to see added to the site to make it better?
  6. Welcome to the site Rockfish. That looked like a lot of non-stop fun in the vdeo you put together. This is a 8 minute video, so if you are on dial up, do it before you go to bed and watch it in the AM. We are glad you like the site and we look foreward to seeing you on the forums. We have a weekly chat on Wednesdays that starts at 8pm EST. I am sitting here at work on a Saturday morning, just finished watching this cool video, and all I can think about is fishing This is a great community with a lot of great members. If you need anything, just give a shout on the boards and someone will jump in and help out. Mike
  7. Whats the price in marina's?
  8. You want to run wire to the dipsey, then attach a mono leader to your bait. I recommend using a rubber snubber to absorb the shock of the dipsey, others will say you do not need it.
  9. What is the preferred temperature range for chinook?
  10. Thanks for the Link Willie Bee!
  11. Like the two previous post I have to agree on the vibration of the line in the water. I also believe you get more and better lure action from a wire dipsey than a mono or super line dipsey. There is zero stretch to wire. When the boat rocks, the dipsey will rock with it. This gives your bait a jigging action. You do not have that kind of action with mono because of line stretch. You can also achieve depths of 100' plus. A pair of wire line or copper line dipsey's should be in everyones arsenal.
  12. Thanks for the reply Tim. He had the line running though the sinkers and the sinkers would slide up or down the line. I am guessing he used a rubber band or something to hold them in place
  13. Rich has been promoted to moderator on the site. Please welcome Rich into his new postion. If you are having any problems, please contact Rich Oh yeah....new guy has to buy the members of the site the first round
  14. It went up $.20 yesterday It will take 2 weeks for it to go down if it goes down.
  15. The lake was turned up pretty good earlier in the week. I am sure the lake being turned up did not help the matters any.
  16. Did you head towards the nuker or fish around the piers? Everyone has been going towards the nuker.
  17. I have came up with a date of June 17 and a blow date of June 18. This does not fall on any tournament dates. Now I need to come up with a location, and a set of rules. I would like to keep it located between the St.Joe League waters and the West Michigan League waters. I am thinking South Haven. Is this a city ramp of a dnr ramp? The one issue I am worried about is where to have the weigh in. Any ideas?
  18. This tournament is this weekend. Anyone going to be fishing in it?
  19. How did you do at the Brown Blast? What worked or did not work for you?
  20. Did you tell him there is a picture of his sweet boat on the site?
  21. There are a lot of visitors that are viewing the site daily. I am glad you decided to take the plunge and join in on the fun. Welcome to the site. If you need anything, just give a yell. Just curious....How did you find the site?
  22. If you replace the cable Brian, so yourself a favor and put in a "No Feed back" system. A "No Feed back" system removes all of the motor torque from the wheel. You know how the wheel pulls to one side when you take off and how it pulls the opposite direction when you shut downand come off plane? With a "No Feed Back" system, you will not feel any of this. Also, you can let go of the wheel and it will not turn. The "No Feed Back" system is in the helm so you have to change this also. There is nothing hard about changing over to it. Unbolt the wheel, and there are 2 bolts that hold the helm on. Piece of cake Did I mention how well I like "No Feed Back"? :D
  23. Ahhmmmm....My season starts the 17th. I will be over

  25. Has anyone ever taken the test without taking a course?
