  1. Can I get some more informtion about these tournaments? Are these tourneys for everyone or do you need to be a member of something in order to join. If I new about these a little earlier in the year, I may have been able to join in on a few. Will they be in the Muskegon area next year also? I like the sounds of a one day Saturday tourney. Flyboy
  2. Whats the WMFL tournament stand for? Is it every year in Muskegon?
  3. Great to hear there are fisherman out there such as yourself.
  4. Great Report! Always great to hear others helpin newbies catch fish. Sounds like a great time.
  5. Fished from 6:00-9:30 this morning in 70-80 fow. Had 3 releases in first 20 minutes and then picked up 5 fish until we picked up lines. Even landed a double in there. Ended 5 for 8, Double Trouble, White SD/pickle sunshine fly, green splatter back Silver Horde, and an NBK all took fish. Largest was 17lbs, smallest was 12lbs. A little choppy but still a great morning to be on the water. Flyboy
  6. Another great morning on the lake. Beautiful sunrise and a lake of glass makes every trip out enjoyable no matter how many fish you catch. It was a pretty slow morning however. First time all year we got all the rods set without a fish on. Anyways, hooked on to the first fish at about 6:15. Little dink, not much bigger than the spoon it hit, so it had to go back. Until about 7:30 we took hits, nothing fast and furious, but steady, but by 7:30 everything was done. Ended up probably 5 for 7 staying in about 95-105 fow. Rigger down 65 with a double trouble took three fish, rigger down 74 with a big white paddle and a seamist horsefly took one, and a dipsy 175 back with a blue/pearl sd and a blue bubble fly also took one. Nothin bigger than 13lbs. Overall, great morning on the water, will be back out on Saturday. Flyboy Is anyone else getting alot of trips on the riggers but no hook ups? We had several other hits, but by the time you could even say fish on, they were gone. Probaly had another 4 or 5 releases with nothing there. It was interesting because this would only happen on the riggers set at 50 or above, anything below was a clean hook up every time.
  7. Thats the spoon! If you don't have it, you gotta get it, catches fish for us every time we go out.
  8. What a morning!!!!! Started setting lines in 77fow at 5:45, got three lines down, and all three went!!!! Landed all three. Set two more lines down, got a double going!!! Got one of two from that. The next 2 and a half hours were one right after the other. Ended up 8 for 15, all kings, eight to seventeen lbs. We fished from 80-90fow all morning. What worked: 52 down, Double Trouble, 3 for 6 Same rod on the slider, Flounder pounder 1 for 1 69 down on a rigger Sea Mist Horse Fly, 11 inch paddle 2 for 2 Same rod on the slider, Manderine Minnow I believe is what its called. 1 for 1 54 down on a rigger, Magnum Lemon Ice 0-2 Dipsy 150 back with a mountain sd and a green glow fly 1 for 1 Dipsy 160 back on a white sd and a pickled sunshine fly 0-1 300 ft of copper with a moonshine watermelon 1 for 1 Great Morning! Hope to be back out soon! Flyboy
  9. Great report Rick. Sounds like the fish are still getting to the July mode yet. We went out last night from 7-9pm, and went 1-1. Nice 14lb king on a dipsy set 200 back with a white spinny and a pickled sunshine fly. Hoping for a little more action, but, hey, still a great night on the water. It little bumpier than what NOAA predicted though. There 1-2 footers looked more like 3-4s at times. Oh well, always good to be out to te lake.
  10. Great morning out of the water. Started out a little bumpy, but the lake soon layed right down. We fished between 85-120fow and ended up 5 for 8, all kings above 10 lbs, biggest an 18lber. The hot rod was rigger down 72ft with an 11' white paddle with a SeaMist horse fly, went 4 for 6 on that. Had a screamer on the dipsy with a white spindoctor and a pickled sunshine fly back 190', but didn't connect. We also had one fish on a double trouble down 64ft. Great to be back out on the water. 11. Thanks for the report Katrina! We'll be heading out tomorrow for the first time in a month or so and your report will be very helpful for what to run. Thanks for the report.
  12. Great Job! Sounds like a great evening! Were the paddles with the Oceana and Fern Flies the 8 or 11 inch models? Also, you mentioned "speed at the hawk", what average speed is that on the surface?
  13. Sounds like a great trip! Way to go! Do you know how makes that Area 51 spoon? That seems to be showing up quite a bit in reports lately.
  14. I'm heading up this weekend to Houghton Lake or some fishing. Any reports on the walleye fishing lately?
  15. I'll be heading up to Houghton Lake this weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone's been doing any fishing up there lately. Any reports?
  16. What does the S.O.G. stinger look like? I've heard alot about it but can never find it.
  17. Hows the Bass fishing on this lake?
  18. Thanks for the help! Just a few more questions. Whens the best time to fish for walleye here? Also, how is the bass fishing here, and what are the best baits to use for them? Sorry about all the questions, but I've heard from a friend that the fishing here for the past couple years has not been good, but after reading some reports, they claim the opposite????
  19. Would this be drifting/trolling right along the weed lines? How deep of water do you fish for walleyes during June? When using harnesses, do you use bottom bouncers? I've never fished for walleye before, so any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  20. What is the average speed to troll with harnesses and/or Rapalas? Also, this may be a dumb question, but, is there a rod limit per person when trolling for walleyes?
  21. I will be fishing for the first time on Houghton Lake in the third week of June. Where is the best location for trolling for walleyes and pike, what type of hardware and fishing techniques work best, and what type of rod/reel combos will work most favorably for this?
