  1. The wife and I will be at Harshorn on Friday (9/18) afternoon. Gonna do some fishing and have a few pints at the Irish Music Festival. Plan to go home before noon on Tuesday. I got the latest net locations and have been reading the fishing reports but still don't have much of a plan. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, DD
  2. Oh boy, now she will want to go fishing with you Good job.
  3. The Numbers – What do they mean? In Ludington, as in many other ports, the various fishing areas are described by their GPS (Latitude/Longitude) numbers. Ludington boats use the “middle” number of the N (latitude) and W (longitude) to describe their positions on the radio. The pier heads - at about 43º57’00N are described as “the 57’s”. The Point - at about 44º03’50N is the “3 and 1/2’s” The Project - at about 43º55’00N is the “54’s” or “55’s” The Bathhouse is in the “02’s” at about 44º02’00N The “Number Change” (also known as the “Double 0’s” is the 44th Parallel, where latitudes change from 43º to 44º - this is about 3 miles north of the Ludington pier head. You also will hear boats on the radio talk about being at the “31 Line”, meaning their middle W number is 31 (86º31’00). This is about 4 nautical miles west of the pier heads which are at 27W (86º27’00). Or you might hear someone say they are out at the “40 Line”. This means they are way out deep in 300+ FOW near the commercial shipping lanes, 86º40’00W, about 13 nautical miles west of the pier heads. DD
  4. Nice fish but that's not Lake Michigan, it's too flat.
  5. Bought on eBay in 2005 as a kicker for our 28' Marinette. Have upgraded to a 4 stroke. Manual start motor starts easily, runs great, and shifts smoothly: F-N-R. Just installed new spark plugs, water pump kit, carrier bearing seal, thrust bearing and washer ($150, have receipts and saved the old parts). Lower unit pressure tested and filled with new gear lube. Included: Garelick portable stand ($80), fuel tank and line ($40), service manual ($70), Garelick tilter assist handle ($25), propeller (10 3/8" X 13P), and fabric motor cover. YEAR - 1982 - Always fresh water MODEL - 102522 SERIAL - 7188680 $900 OBO I prefer not to have to ship but could put on a pallet for your shipper. Probably around 125 pounds total. 10. Hello All, The wife and I just got back from our trip to Ludington. Didn't fish much because of the bumpy weather. But, we decided to check out the incoming fish at the cleaning station on Sunday night and got a HUGE surprise. The big male tipped the bragging board scale at 34 pounds! Wonder how much it would weigh on a certified scale. Anybody know who caught it?

  20. This is our first year of fishing. We were in Ludington for 2 weeks from 7/6-7/19 and caught fish each time we were able to get out. Planning to fish Muskegon next week (Hartshorn). The kicker works great for trolling when the waves aren't crazy and will push 5mph at WOT. DD
