  1. well the tourney got cancelled due to mother nature pms'in. so headed to one of the inland lakes around kalamazoo area and tight lined some rainbows. took a few of the youth bowlers i coach along for thier first time and well we ended up with 13 fish total most of them were 12 inches got one that was 20 inches. i know this is a big lake report but its trout. and they are good on the grill or smoked
  2. well that sucks that we got cancelled for tomorrow now. now i got to figure out some other fishing to do tonight or tomorrow.

  3. myself i have a few bloody noses in both spoon and flies and when i get the chance to go i have been using them with luck. i'm still learning what baits to use when and such but i also dance to the beat of my own drum so it works good for me to use off the wall stuff
  4. looking foward to sunday mike from the sounds of it its gonna be a blast. to all the other guys/gals fishing in this good luck FISH ON
  5. still waiting to hear something too i see

i am trying to figure out how to get in the tourney on the 8th but dont know how to get my entry to who by the 25th or where the launch is in muskegon any answers by nay chance?

  8. cool thanks the boat i was on is a friends boat pandlourios my "boat" is still in the process of being stripped down so i can start all over with it.

  9. hey terry i think it was you talking about a few baits but i might be wrong. it was a black diamond and a andaconda. what are they spoons or flies? and by the way i was the one who hollered at you at 715 yesterday morning and also later when you was fixin to pull lines and told you we went 4 for 8

  10. lines in about 600 am in about 75 80 fow. first fish cam on dipsy set up with a green spin doctor with a green fly 2nd fish was a king alos like the first hit a green fly on 300 feet of copper with a green spin doctor and a green fly. 3rd was a skamania on rigger with off the wall multi color moonglow spoon. last was another king 12# got it on a dipsy with a spin doctor with a blue fly total went 4 for 8. south troll was only time we had hits. pics are coming soon dirty dawg sounded like you had a good day man thanks for the info we'll catch ya out there agian sometime soon man
  11. thanks terry i'll shout for you i'll be out on pandalouris were are shootin to leave kalamazoo about 4 am at the lastest
  12. heading to saugatuck in the morning. anyone got any good idead on what baits to start with? if so it would be alot better than just washing spoons. thanks ya'll
  13. ok my mistake. must have been someone looking for you then
  14. well got up and headed to saugatuck sat at 330 am nice and clear in kalamazoo. got close saw the light show and then the rain came in a hurry. grab some grub at the way point and sat and waited till 730. anyways got lines in about 815 in about 90 fow of water (marked fish in about 45) ran 4 boards 2 dipsey's 2 riggers and one down the chute. first fish came on a rigger on the bottom roughly 94 feet big laker hit a green "fly" with a metal flasher i belive washed enough stuff. 2nd was a king picked up on a south troll. full core with a "nosebleed" white and red spoon. board was 125 feet back give or take. 3rd was a steelie (skimaina) hit dipsey loaded with a green spin doctor with a green/silver fly. not bad for what thought was gonna be a wasted day 3 for 3. if i could figure out pictures i would load them but maybe pulpinfish will load the pics heard plumcrazy on the radio and also heard some guy out of holland that went 7 for 7
  15. thanks to all the info so far guys. i have talked to a few guys that have done rebuilds and have gotten a few more ideas on how to go about this. i am still trying to figure out how to post pictures on the threads on this site so bare with me i got some of the start of the project. shooting on a spring of 2010 first time out trip with the thing. right now here are some of my plans. i am taking the port side consoule out of the boat to make more room for fishing and landing fish if needed since it is an outboard (lots of guys tell me it easier to land on the side which does make sence.). also gonna repaint the old girl not gonna disclose the paint scheme yet cause i want it to be origanal. also desided on the name for the boat couldnt see still calling her 'dirty bastard' (my brother has some issues glad my sister in law named my neice and not him) the old girl's new name is gonna be "WATERY GRAVE". but as soon as i figure out how to load pictures i will be adding them as i go. agian ya'll thanks for the help and ideas. good luck with your fishing this year also see ya on the big ole pond
  16. ok here is the shake down. i aquired a 1978 starcraft super sport v o/b. open bow which had seating in the bow but now is gone due to rotting. this is a new deal for me redoing a boat from the hull up. first things first i want to blast the boat to remove all the different paint that has been put on it over the course of its life. there is a place in plainwell called consolidated stripping i belive that is a do-it-yourself place. so question 1 is will walnut shells weaken the hull? question 2 how thick of a floor is over kill i would like to put in 3/4 floor. question 3 what is a good foam to put under the floor to deaden the sound so it doesnt make as much noise through the water to spook shallow water fish? i got alot more questions but these are just the start. thanks for any info or opionons you may have
  17. very nice boat. and my opion on down riggers is big jons. i have been out with friends some use walker some cannon and 1 uses big jon captian packs. i found the big jons are the smoothest operating from a newbie stand point which i am. only down side about the big jons is and this might just be because of the boat that the switches are easily bumped causing a big ole nasty birds nest with the cable. agian its just my opion on it
  18. cool to see another fisherman from kalamazoo. if you dont mind this winter i am redoing a 19 foot starcarft and i'll have questions on setting it up and rigging it. you seem to do well so i was wondering if i could ask you questions when i get to working on it

  19. was out on the pier untill 430 am water temp was 50.1 to 51.3 degress never had a single tap but on a god note there was tons of alwives gathered around the pier so time will tell.
  20. heading out tonight to see if the reports are true that they have been catching some. i saw 4 with my own 2 eyes sunday that a friend caught south of the pier heads in st joe in 40 fow dont know if they were just a little early or not so i'll report back tomorrow or late tonight. good luck fishing ya'll
  21. yeah i agree there was much nicer being sore on the lake although i know i will be paying fo it later tonight but it was worth it
  22. hey keith didnt do so good 2 small perch down by the dunes then spent alot of time trying to find them north and then back to the south and in 25 fow to 70 fow

  23. got to the lake late this morning. headed south to the dunes in 34 fow. got to small perch. after about an hour pulled lines and anchor motored north of the pier heads to the hole at 70 fow no dice there. captian had 2 bites never landed the fish. motored backed to the dunes and by this time pretty much every boat in south haven there tried for about an hour no bites pulled lines headed home. the lake was real nice today so wasnt a waste of time
