  2. soundin off from kalamazoo here. and might i add this site is a good thing thanks for your work on it mike gobble gobble happy turkey day ya'll
  3. if i shoot a deer i just put the arrow and broadhead up and dont shoot it agian. it makes it a bit easier to do that with carbon arrows and muzzy 4 blade 100 grain when you have an uncle who owns a archery shop and gives you a dozen arrows and broadheads every year for an early christmas present
  4. second night out for the year was oct 23 and this guy made the mistake to walk with-in 20 yards of me in the apple orchard.
  5. well the 2009 big lake season is over for me it was a blast even though i didnt get out as much as i wish i could have due to not having my own boat. my plans to redo the 1978 starcraft have come to a hakt as of right now due to my girlfriends apartment burning down oct 2 and her and her kids losing everything. thankfully her and the kids were not in there at the time and are safe. everything that was lost can be replaced. but on a better note i did ask her if she wanted to get hitched and low and behold she said YES. so if all goes well next year i might still be able to get the boat done and have a few new fishing partners 2 of her 3 kids her son Hunter (aka Homo) and her youngest daughter Daizie (the mouth). But thanks to everyone who helped me out this year with info on baits, depths, troll directions and all the other stuff that goes with the big lake fishing. Mike(glf), Terry (the dirty dog) you guys were the biggest help of all and thanks for the time you spent on the phone about the differnt techniecs of presenting baits come on 2010 see ya'll on the big ole pond next year and maybe on the ice

  9. the dirty dog would have limited out in that tow in if he put lines in the water. he just has the old guy smell that fish love i think
  10. went out yesterday for the last time this year on the pandlouris with mark. got lines set about 7 am in 70ish fow striaght out of the pier heads hit about 85 fow and wire dipsy goes off very small king hit a blue fly behind a blue spin doctor. though it was gonna be a good day. also thought there was gonna be a fight between a boat named second chance and some small lund. the second chance boat ran over the lund's gear after the guy in the lund went striaght in front of about 3 boats us included. well kept goin and goin and goin and goin and nothing washed about all the baits on the boat and couldnt get anything else to go off. so strated to make circles and found a couple of big schools in 125 fow of water they were stacked from 60 feet to the bottom and there had to be 45 to 60 fish in the school and we couldnt even snag a single one of them. oh well it was a awesome day on the lake and best part is we were not skunked once this year our count wasnt the best but we always had atleast one fish in the box. thanks to everyones help with my rookie season on the big lake and mike thanks for the work you do on this site and hopefully next year i will have my boat done or find one for sale to buy and then worry about the old starcraft at my leasure and hit a few tourneys. terry sorry man that i wasnt out at the time you was i just got home about 15 mins before you called man.
  11. i have these reels and not with copper yet but i have 350 feet of backer with 10 color 27lb on them and there is still some room but i am gonna get some copper and load one up i am thinking maybe 300 feet power pro 50lb and light copper not 45lb
  12. well got on the lake about 630ish started in 85 fow of water and ran out to about 115 120 and didnt mark anything turned back and just at sunset had a pissed off king hit a 5 color with a glow blue shad in about 85 to 90 fow trolled all the way back to the mud line for the most part with out a single hit so batted 100% 1 for 1 water temp was mid 50's untill about 100 feet then climbed to mid to upper 60's

  14. nice fish there terry its offical your gonna have to show me how to fish most i have boxed in a outting this year has been 5
  15. no problem man it was eventful out there we so gotta put an age limit on the boat
  16. got lines set about 7am in 85 fow on a south troll. first hit was on 10 color sportin a j-plug(i think could have been a flasher with a pumpkinseed fly) second hit on a rigger loaded with a nbk 65 feet down. first fish land was a 12 lbs king on dipsie 150 back with nbk flasher and green fly then 350 copper pops another king line was hooked up with a green j-plug. all south troll so spin around and rigger pops (set at 85 feet with blow back from a 2.3 troll so who knows how deep the bait really was with) loaded with a bug eye green fly and tin can. up comes a greaser. troll north and get no hits go to reel in the 7 color to change spoons and got a shaker. reset the 7 color with the mag bloody nose and never got another hit up till pulled lines at 1pm. currents were causing enough headaches today first it was the basket that the 450 copper made out of its self then dipsies got tangled up (dont ask) then found some old line on a dipsie as pullin lines and oh yeah it was a big ole mess but all was good dont lose any gear or fish to equipment just old guy syndrome (aka father old and slow)
  17. to be honest neither can i wasnt the smartest thing i have done but not the stupidiest thing by far
  18. first off yeah i know i'm not to bright.......................... got lines in the water around 1030ish. waves were 3 to 6 or so but its been awhile since fishing. cleared the pier heads and headed south. set up in about 70 fow. ran the spoons from the aug 8 tourny. so no idea which ones are which still. i belive the spoon that took the most hits was the glf. ran 2 riggers 2 dipsies and 2 boards. waves built alot faster than noaa figured so pulled lines and "ran" in ended up 3 for 5 a coho a king and a laker. made it back without losing anyone or tackle it was intresting to say the least
  19. treated lumber is bad for alum. because of the alkaline so what i am gonna do is us a A grade ply wood and mix up firberglass resin and coat the plywood and let the resin set up and then the wood is fully sealed. for what i read and it does make sense so we'll see but first i gotta finish tearing the boat apart and deside if i am gonna blast it so i can start all over from a bare shell for fresh paint
  20. there are a couple of lakes somewhat close to you that i have fished for trout but if i told you what lakes they were i would have to kill ya lol but hey send me a pm sometime and i will tell you the best lake i have found for them
  21. yeah its gotta be about the kids because they are the future of the sports we all love and if someone doesnt teach them the rights and wrongs what is gonna happen to the fisheries and the wildlife populations? thanks for the reply i am finding more and more of the good guys
