nice boat terry. should i still keep the tow strap around though just incase i get a call?
-
i dont want to bad mouth anyone but i am starting to question mike covey's fishing reports. i know these are from our fellow anglers but yeah.............
5 times in the last week i have tried some of the lakes that gave good reports to get out there and drill a million holes and not mark a single fish on the vexlar.
i guess this is just a rant about slow fishing. i just wish some guys could be a little more honest about what they are or are not catching on the lakes right now cause it is enough to piss someone off to drive to the other side of hartford to van aukin lake just to get skunked and after walking off the ice a resident who i know very well and is a old timer flat out says there hasnt been hardly any action to speak of yet this year.
so i guess this is just a bitch and a request to all the fellow anglers be honest about what your catching when giving info to a bait/tackle store on what you are catching

I like Pine lake, I have pulled some really nice crappie out of there. The best times to fish them was after dark with minnows.
tried that tonight vexlar showed alot of fish agian tonight but lockjaw and kids started to get cold so packed up and headed off the the comfert of a warm truck and a restuarnt for dinner
-
yeah i will be taking 3 kids out tomorrow afternoon for thier very first ice fishing trip ever this ought to be fun lol
-
hit pine lake this morning and boy do te fish have lockjaw. ended up with 1 spec and 3 blue gill between myself and pulpfishin. found out like what terry is sayin they are right on the bottom. sooner or later they gotta get hungry.
but did see one nice pike come out from a group of guys fishin with thier kids. always nice to see a kid get a nice fish. i would say it was about 28 inches or so.
happy new year to ya'll i hope its a good one

i do what ever seems like it would piss me off if i was a fish. spoons body baits flies i dont think myself there is no rythme or reason to the baits. except for the fact that they are for one thing and one thing only and that is to catch fishermen. plain and simple
-
i'm game

i told one of the girls new boyfriend i do have a cpl and a few handguns to go along with it, so if you all are thinking about any huggin or kissin or anything beyond that just remember this phrase - i aint got no problem goin back to prison - have her back home say around 9ish have fun. and dont grin at all when sayin it cause i didnt and the poor kid wouldnt even try to give her a hug and he is all yes sir no sir.

-
i am hoping right around christmas.
cause there are 3 teenage girls in the house and being laid off for the winter and dealing with them all is driving me nuts
COME ON COLD AIR
-
ok i know this is gonna sound stupid but how and what do you use for fishing for white fish?
i have never fished for them and everyone is telling me that they are the cats meow smoked and i wouldnt mind getting some since all the deer have gone and bought shovels and dug fox holes and tunnels and are no where to be found?
any suggestions or anyone from the the site fish at these two piers willing to have a rookie tag along?
-
thanks terry
i hope you and your family have a good thanksgiving
and ditto to those in the armed forces.
-
soundin off from kalamazoo here.
and might i add this site is a good thing thanks for your work on it mike
gobble gobble happy turkey day ya'll
-
if i shoot a deer i just put the arrow and broadhead up and dont shoot it agian. it makes it a bit easier to do that with carbon arrows and muzzy 4 blade 100 grain when you have an uncle who owns a archery shop and gives you a dozen arrows and broadheads every year for an early christmas present

well the 2009 big lake season is over for me it was a blast even though i didnt get out as much as i wish i could have due to not having my own boat. my plans to redo the 1978 starcraft have come to a hakt as of right now due to my girlfriends apartment burning down oct 2 and her and her kids losing everything. thankfully her and the kids were not in there at the time and are safe. everything that was lost can be replaced. but on a better note i did ask her if she wanted to get hitched and low and behold she said YES.
so if all goes well next year i might still be able to get the boat done and have a few new fishing partners 2 of her 3 kids her son Hunter (aka Homo) and her youngest daughter Daizie (the mouth).
But thanks to everyone who helped me out this year with info on baits, depths, troll directions and all the other stuff that goes with the big lake fishing.
Mike(glf), Terry (the dirty dog) you guys were the biggest help of all and thanks for the time you spent on the phone about the differnt techniecs of presenting baits
come on 2010
see ya'll on the big ole pond next year and maybe on the ice
-
Thanks Adam.
It's funny how those two young bucks have been following the older one around. All summer long everytime I saw them they were together. I guess he's their hero
he's my hero too dang nice pics man and i will be killing something oct 1st. seen some real nice ones all summer while choppin wood for the winter so if goes as planned fresh backstraps
and good luck to everyone who makes it out

Good job on the fish. Things have been very tough out of S. Haven lately. We went out saturday too and did got a 15lb and a 10lb king in 140 fow. We marked those schools too and couldn't get a single hit in them.
yeah i marked them 4 or 5 different times all on a north troll and no dice
-
there are pieces here pieces there no floor the engine is hanging on a cherry picker its a complete redo from paint to seats
-
the dirty dog would have limited out in that tow in if he put lines in the water. he just has the old guy smell that fish love i think
-
went out yesterday for the last time this year on the pandlouris with mark.
got lines set about 7 am in 70ish fow striaght out of the pier heads
hit about 85 fow and wire dipsy goes off very small king hit a blue fly behind a blue spin doctor.
though it was gonna be a good day. also thought there was gonna be a fight between a boat named second chance and some small lund. the second chance boat ran over the lund's gear after the guy in the lund went striaght in front of about 3 boats us included.
well kept goin and goin and goin and goin and nothing washed about all the baits on the boat and couldnt get anything else to go off.
so strated to make circles and found a couple of big schools in 125 fow of water they were stacked from 60 feet to the bottom and there had to be 45 to 60 fish in the school and we couldnt even snag a single one of them.
oh well it was a awesome day on the lake and best part is we were not skunked once this year our count wasnt the best but we always had atleast one fish in the box.
thanks to everyones help with my rookie season on the big lake and mike thanks for the work you do on this site and hopefully next year i will have my boat done or find one for sale to buy and then worry about the old starcraft at my leasure and hit a few tourneys.
terry sorry man that i wasnt out at the time you was i just got home about 15 mins before you called man.
