well got on the lake about 630ish started in 85 fow of water and ran out to about 115 120 and didnt mark anything turned back and just at sunset had a pissed off king hit a 5 color with a glow blue shad in about 85 to 90 fow trolled all the way back to the mud line for the most part with out a single hit so batted 100% 1 for 1
water temp was mid 50's untill about 100 feet then climbed to mid to upper 60's

Keith was old and slow this morning also. The 450 foot of copper basket weave was my fault. I did not notice the dipsy on my side was tripped and proceeded to wrapped 450 feet of copper around it. Oops. Nice catch on the diver though Dan, 300 foot of copper, a board and spinny/fly combo. Decent trade for the 2 fish we lost! I also made the ultimate mistake: I put the dipsy set on 1 1/2 for my side on Dan's side, bad thing was we didn't notice until the starboard and port low divers mated. How they stayed out of the riggers is beyond me. Lots of fun though, thanks you guys for getting me out of the house on my anniversary. Best gift I could've given my wife!
no problem man it was eventful out there we so gotta put an age limit on the boat

got lines set about 7am in 85 fow on a south troll. first hit was on 10 color sportin a j-plug(i think could have been a flasher with a pumpkinseed fly) second hit on a rigger loaded with a nbk 65 feet down. first fish land was a
12 lbs king on dipsie 150 back with nbk flasher and green fly then 350 copper pops another king line was hooked up with a green j-plug. all south troll so spin around and rigger pops (set at 85 feet with blow back from a 2.3 troll so who knows how deep the bait really was with) loaded with a bug eye green fly and tin can. up comes a greaser. troll north and get no hits go to reel in the 7 color to change spoons and got a shaker. reset the 7 color with the mag bloody nose and never got another hit up till pulled lines at 1pm.
currents were causing enough headaches today first it was the basket that the 450 copper made out of its self then dipsies got tangled up (dont ask) then found some old line on a dipsie as pullin lines and oh yeah it was a big ole mess but all was good dont lose any gear or fish to equipment just old guy syndrome (aka father old and slow)

Nice job. GLF catching fish . . . cool. Can't believe you were out in that crap.
to be honest neither can i wasnt the smartest thing i have done but not the stupidiest thing by far

first off yeah i know i'm not to bright..........................
got lines in the water around 1030ish. waves were 3 to 6 or so but its been awhile since fishing. cleared the pier heads and headed south. set up in about 70 fow. ran the spoons from the aug 8 tourny. so no idea which ones are which still. i belive the spoon that took the most hits was the glf. ran 2 riggers 2 dipsies and 2 boards. waves built alot faster than noaa figured so pulled lines and "ran" in ended up 3 for 5 a coho a king and a laker.
made it back without losing anyone or tackle it was intresting to say the least

treated lumber is bad for alum. because of the alkaline so what i am gonna do is us a A grade ply wood and mix up firberglass resin and coat the plywood and let the resin set up and then the wood is fully sealed. for what i read and it does make sense so we'll see but first i gotta finish tearing the boat apart and deside if i am gonna blast it so i can start all over from a bare shell for fresh paint

That sounds like alot of fun, I'll have to try it sometime

Good job Deisel. Way to get the kids involved...Im sure its something theyll always remember.
yeah its gotta be about the kids because they are the future of the sports we all love and if someone doesnt teach them the rights and wrongs what is gonna happen to the fisheries and the wildlife populations?
thanks for the reply i am finding more and more of the good guys

Nice job Dan! What are you using for bait?

well the tourney got cancelled due to mother nature pms'in. so headed to one of the inland lakes around kalamazoo area and tight lined some rainbows. took a few of the youth bowlers i coach along for thier first time and well we ended up with 13 fish total most of them were 12 inches got one that was 20 inches.
i know this is a big lake report but its trout. and they are good on the grill or smoked

myself i have a few bloody noses in both spoon and flies and when i get the chance to go i have been using them with luck. i'm still learning what baits to use when and such but i also dance to the beat of my own drum so it works good for me to use off the wall stuff

well got up and headed to saugatuck sat at 330 am nice and clear in kalamazoo. got close saw the light show and then the rain came in a hurry. grab some grub at the way point and sat and waited till 730.
anyways got lines in about 815 in about 90 fow of water (marked fish in about 45) ran 4 boards 2 dipsey's 2 riggers and one down the chute.
first fish came on a rigger on the bottom roughly 94 feet big laker hit a green "fly" with a metal flasher i belive washed enough stuff. 2nd was a king picked up on a south troll. full core with a "nosebleed" white and red spoon. board was 125 feet back give or take. 3rd was a steelie (skimaina) hit dipsey loaded with a green spin doctor with a green/silver fly.
not bad for what thought was gonna be a wasted day 3 for 3. if i could figure out pictures i would load them but maybe pulpinfish will load the pics
heard plumcrazy on the radio and also heard some guy out of holland that went 7 for 7
