  1. well as of right now everything is falling in place for the purchase of a "new" 1985 sea ray 26ft sundancer with twin screws. they guy who wants to buy the bass boat has called 5 or 6 times today asking little stupid questions and is driving in from south lyon tomorrow to look at it and "fingers crossed" buy it so i can make the deal work with the sea ray so all in all if you see pics under a post from me of a sea ray it meas the deal went through

  2. Went to Brooks Archery in Kalamazoo and the owner set her up with what she needed

paul ted is my uncle and i personally will not buy a single thing from him ever agian he is just worried about the bottom line and cares only for himself. for archery deal with kruzinga on m-43.

now d-n-r is a great place to deal with some of thier staff are clueless but most of them are knowalable on alot of topics and if all else fails talk to randy he takes time to talk to any customer who needs his help :thumb:

  3. Before you buy, it would be a very good idea to have it surveyed.

talked to andy about it since he is a searay owner and he said he would take some time to take a look at it with me and give me his thoughts on it

  4. well found a 1985 searay 26 footer with twin 350's today and made the call and went and looked at it and gave the lady an offer on it just now sitting here waiting if she will take the offer.

the boat is not rigged for fishing at all but after being out with andy (2unreel) yesterday i think its a good foundation for a fishing boat. so if anyone has any thoughts on electronics and other rigging ideas that make fishing more productive please feel free to add to this.

my thoughts were the fact that the engines are under deck making for open deck for fishing. twin screws just incase (after what we went through on 4-2). the cabin to get crew out of bad weather if it pops up. and its trailerable

  5. but hey we made it back had some fun shootin the crap. andy and randy tried to becomes pros at drift fishing for ho's with lead and mono. it was better than sittin at home. and it was good puttin a face to the name and voice of people i have chatted with on here

  6. i have gone through that round-a-bout with a tri axle dump truck pulling a 38 foot equipment trailer so yeah you can get through it with a truck pullin a good size boat no worries

plus it was the company i work for that did the paving and dirt work so dont blame me i just need the pay check lol

  7. i fish out of st joe south haven and saugatuck and have had good luck with copper set ups (300 and 450) also with leadcore from 5 color to 10 color set-ups with clean spoons and the best luck i have had is with dipsies loaded with spin doctors with blue or green flies set back 150 to 185 feet at a gps speed over water from 1.2 to 2.8 mph.

hope this helps and welcome to the site alot of good guys here with alot of info

  8. in st joe right on niles ave about 5 miles off i94 there is the silver beach hotel that is nice.

also stay away from benton harlem if you dont want to be filling out police reports from your car/truck being broken into or stolen

in new buffalo 4 winds casino resort has nice rooms and the place is clean.

south haven not sure of lodging but there are a few good places to eat a few are.. thirsty perch-good food priced a little high

captian lou's-good food priced alright and right on the black river at the draw bridge

taco bob's-good food for a good price plus they have the roof seating

  9. So I'm glad I pulled the boat out of storage early this year. My truck was just recalled and won't be back until April. So now I have the boat, but nothing to get it to the lake. :(

But say what you will about Toyota, but they are really taking care of me on this one. They need to replace the truck frame, so obviously the labor is intense. They are putting new brake lines in, changing fluids and alignment at no cost. I love my truck and am going to miss it for the next few weeks, but I know they will do a good job. The loaner I got won't tow a boat, but it does give me a break on the gas money :)

So if anyone needs a rider in the near future, let me know. I'm going to be itchin' to get out.

peter if you get the itch and need a tow i got 2 trucks that can pull your boat plus i am just down the road from ya.

  10. Yes, spring fishing at the plant used to be the hot spot. Unfortunately, that whole area is now off limits. I do not think the buoys marking the perimeter are out yet, it's up to the boater to know where they are at. It used to be a warning was given, but lately they have been writing tickets. This is not a new restriction, it went into place in 2001.

from the looks of the guy in my opioin i would have to say this wasnt his first run in with the law the boat was a beat up tin can more or less he looked like a tweaker missin pert near all his teeth and grease ball hair and clothes but i could be wrong. dont think so though

  11. hit the pier today to do some open water fishing.

lake was flat and wind was hardly anything.

started out way slow but ended up picking up around 5ish ended up with 1 coho and 4 white fish. talked to guys coming in and heard and saw steelies and a few browns. saw one idoit come back in tow behind the coast gaurd boat he was saying he found out its illeagal to fish at cook nuc plant.

dnr launch is launchable no docks in though but no ice in the river from what i could see from the road and the pier

  12. I'm working on getting the boat ready today, would like to get next weekend out of St Joe. Anyone know if docks are in at the St Joe city launch or Benton Harbor DNR launch?

not as of yesterday morning they weren't heading back down there today to try off the pier for some browns or coho or what ever baits i'll check agian today and when i stop at tackle haven i'll ask if they know when they are gonna get the docks in and post it later tonight after i get home
