  1. i have been slowly aquring gear over the past year mostly baits to date, but i do have 6 rod/reel set ups 4 are cablea's 2 are eagle claw. just rigged with leadcore.

i want to buy the better set-up gear so i know it will last.

what length and action rod for high lines.

what are good rods for wire dipsies.

what action rod do i want for downriggers.

electronics ways i am lean towards hummingbird for the fishfinder/chart plotter

fish hawk for the downspeed probe.

any info would be great cause next year will be here before we know it and i want to have DILLIGAF ready to fish

  2. Wow! Nice lake trout. Nice job.

The water looks very calm that afternoon. I think it's great when people involve their kids in things like fishing. I am taking my oldest daughter, who's 11, salmon fishing for the first time in a few weeks. Hopefully, we can take her to Muskegon.

yes katrina it was a nice day to be on the water. and to think he said at first he didnt want to go. there is alot of times i would rather strangle the little turd but i probbaly did the same thing at his age.

it all goes to our kids are the future fisherman and to teach them morals about fishing and hunting is our responcablity as parents.

  3. Went 3 for 3 with 2 small kings on a chart/green/orange spoon on a rigger 19 down 30 back. And a 11lbs steelhead on a meat rig and a dipsey on 3 back 48 not a bad trip for 3 hrs. 8:30am to 11:30am got a little choppy as we were going to come in. Anyways got some blood, and scales on the new to us 26' Islander that I got alot of blood, sweat and tears in it over the winter re-doing the wiring, Interior, riggers and rod holders plus alot of other very neglected things I won't mention. Had a good time with my father watching him battle that steelhead that jumped 2-3' out of the the water about 4 times. The boat floats doesn't leak runs like a top and catches fish:lol:

nice goin i was out in the afternoon monday and it was alot past choppy

  10. well i pulled the trigger and bought a sea ray today. its a 1976 24ft sundancer with the 230hp ford v8 with a mercruiser gen 1 out drive single screw. it will not be ready for the water till next year because it does need some work done since it is 34 years old. but i figure with a little bit of time and hopefully not alot of money i can make it into a class act fishing boat. i will post pics when i pic it up saturday.

a big thanks to mike (glf) and andy (2unreel) for even answering thier phones when they knew it was me to offer thier advice.
