  1. Left the dock at 5:20 am with my 5 year old grandson Zack. Set lines at 70 fow & headed west. Took first rip on mag lemon ice on a free slider off a rigger parked at 60 in 112 fow. Second fish came on nbk free slider on a rigger at 49 in 119 fow. 3rd fish came on wire dipsey set on 2.5 150 back in 112 fow on an east troll with a spatter back big paddle with a homemade yellow fly. Moved back into 85 fow once traffic would allow and popped another king 60 down on double glow ace hi plug. As I am fighting in the rigger bite, 150 copper takes a rip which we ended up loosing. Overall ending up 4 for 5 all kings between 4 and 12 lbs. Pulled lines at 9:30 am at Zacks requst. Tons of fun even with a couple of tangles. Special thanks to "Rough Seas" for the tip on the last fish. Good fishing to all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Way to go Jim, towing that guy in truly proves that you are a sportsman. See ya out on the lake soon.
  3. Got really adventurous tonight & drove out way deep to see if maybe any off shore steelie action, no steelies but ended up 2 for 5. 1 laker off rigger 88 down in 350 fow. took 2 more rigger hits in 300 + and 2 hits on dipsey on 2.5 with blue 8" blue bubble spinney with matching fly in around 250. 1 nice eater king out of those 2 hits. radio chatter sounded like v80 to 95 fow was good at the sizzle. back out in the am for round 2. good fishing to all !!!!!!!!!
  4. Fished muskegon 08/10 pm and ended up 1 for 2 with 1 12 lb. king. Tough fishing right now. Might be time to start chasing steelies out deep again. Last year around this time I found an abundant supply out in 325 +.
  5. I have been fishing about the same program as maniac and also have been doing well. Those nets seem a little scary but they can also work in your advantage. 130 foot has also been my best with ace hi mylar plugs and paddles & fly's. 19 fish in the past 4 trips with 6 of those being over 15 lbs. 140 fow has also been good earlier in the evenings.
  6. Nice seeing you out on the big pond Jim. Good job on the fish. By the way, that King went 13 lbs. last night. Love those interior lights.
  7. Hey, some action is still better than no action. I wish I could get the wife to go out on the lake with me now and again.
  8. pat & myself started out of the channel at 7:15 pm. on our way out to deeper water heard a boat on channel 68 say he was in 135 fow and was doing well so we dropped lines in 135. set out the 14 color on the starboard & 300 copper on the port with a mag kevorkian. the copper was down a tottal of about 45 seconds & took a 12 # king. Got the copper back out for another 45 seconds & it ripps off again. lost that fish & before Pat can retrieve the copper the port dipsey takes off whith a white paddle / glow hypnotist fly, 8# king. now were back to only 1 line in. Over the 2 hours I never managed to get all 6 lines set. Ended the night at 10:00 @ 9 for 12. All kings from 5 to 14#. Black spinney / black hypnotist took 3 fish 180 back on a dipsy set on 2 with a mag ring. anything black or purple down 70 to 90 on the riggers took fish. Dipseys were responsible for 6 hits. Special thanks to Down time charters for telling us how to reattach our broken copper. Awesome night on the water!!!!! Good fishing to all.
  9. The walleye boards are a little nosed up but it does work ok
  10. Saturday was tough fishing for us. We ended up with 3 kings for 5 hits on saturday which all came early, between 6 & 7 am in 85 - 100 fow, mostly on 300 copper with a white 11" paddle with a glow hypnotist fly. Sunay was a little tougher bite. things started out really slow with only 1 small king till around 9:30. We decided to troll back into 75 fow around the shallower set of nets just north, took 4 more hits in a short time and boated a 16 Lb. King and a 7 lb. King, sadly we broke off what I believe was an even bigger King on 10 colors. White paddles with flies was the ticket again today. 5 colors also took 2 hits with a mag manderine minnow spoon. Good fishing to all.
  11. Nice job jake, thanks for the tips & nice chatting with you on the water today. Hopefully some of those tips might work in the am tommorow.
  12. looking for a little advice on how to post a picture with a new thread.
  13. Headed out to 110 fow. Set lines @ 7:00 pm & headed NW. Gps speed was 2.4 to 2.6 mph. Pulled lines at 10:00. Ended our night 6 for 12.what worked for us was, 300 copper towing a mag ss kevorkian took 4 strikes, riggers parked at 70 & 80 with free sliders. crippled alewife on one slider went 3 times and nbk on the other slider got nailed once. 10 colors with a mag melon moonshine took 1 hit. Wire dipsey started pounding while I was trying to get it into the rod holder. dipsey was out 180 on 2 with an 11" white pro troll E chip With a glow hypnotist trailing. the other 2 hits came on mono dipsy on 2 with a white spinney with dragging a green bay packer. not a very good batting average but a ton of fun for 3 guys in a few hours. Good fishing to all.
  14. Jim, it was really nice meeting you and thanks for the complement on your post. We didnt do as well as you on monday but we did end up with 22 fish this weekend, 12 of them were steelies the largest of which went 13.5 lbs. Good fishing to all, Rick T.
  15. :grin:Ran out deep to 225 straight out this morning. Worked 225 to 250. ended up 3.5 miles south. Finished up the day with 5 steelies,2 kings, 2 lakers and a coho making the total 10 for 10. Riggers down 88, 92, & 77 with stackers 20 & 25 up the cables. Oranges, reds, greens & blues, all spoons, took fish. Wire dipsys back 180 & 187 with mag rings on 2 1/2 took fish. 10 & 12 colors of lead with a green j on one and a mag atomic melon on the other both produced. The day started with a double on the lead and finished with a double on the riggers. Left the launch at 6:15 am & returned at 11:15 am. Best part of the whole moring was my buddies 11 year old son got to land 5 out of the 10. Sent one of the lakers(12 lbs.)back to the deep. Good fishing to all, See yall after the tourney tommorow. Rick T.
