  1. Worked 200-300 FOW. Surface temp 50-53 and 90 foot down ranged from 40-46. Worked the temp break and managed a boat load of cohos, 2 nice 8lb steelhead and had 8 Salmon on and boated 5 with the biggest tipping 20lbs. Best lures today were coyotes mupped, stinger chicken wings, and 42 spoon off the riggers. Cohos were taking ATOMIK Coho flies fished behind a 00 red dodger (2-3 colors of lead pulling it off boards) Lots of fun out here right now so if your looking for a place to fish this weekend it might be worth the trip!
  2. Smoked EM! Well, that is if you like cohos. 5/10 - For 4 hours strait we smacked cohos fromthe surface down to 10'. We were looking for steel, but no luck. Ran into 4 salmon bites, and one of them was 22 and 3/4's 4-5 hours after sitting in the cooler! 5/11 - played with the cohos for about an hour and it wasn't fun, so i pulled those lines and loocked for the salmon. Had 7 bites landed 5. all 10-18lbs. Hot lures this week so far are coyote 28's, chicken wings, and anything green. No real fly bite yet . Sitting in the harbor at the moment burnt as heck, and soar from fishing the last teo days! I wake up to a good ol' north east blow!
  3. Fished from 9-11 and did 3 kings, 2 cohos, and droped one king. All fish came high between 30-50. Coyote 28 wasa hot for us today. Fishing 150-200FOW
  4. 5/4 - Ran to the Welland and managed a 12lb king on a slide diver with a black/gold bomber. Another King around 15 on a "Yankee Troller/Billy V" Hammer Time. Small coho off the top and a couple of lakers later on in the day. Very SLOW, and very COLD! 5/5 - Ran to am area on the Canadian side that looked like it was holding Kings, but after 3 minutes of trolling we figured out they were Lakers. Ended the say with 15 bites and only 2 were coho. ALL LAKERS and I tossed a 17lb'er back in the drink. OWuld of been in top 10 with it. 5/6 - Wasnt too happy to get out this morning and it showed with the poorest performance of the weekend. 2 bited/2 lakers
  5. I dont use them anyway becasue they are generally more expensive!
  6. Dropped in around 7 and fished till 9. Boat had some overheating problems so we couldnt troll down too much and had to keep throwing it in Neutral to rev the engine. Finally called it quits at 9. Plucked a nice 8lb bow off the boards on my noode rod and that was the ony action for the morning. That is until I came back with the bass boat and loaded up on some LM, most of them were small though.
  7. Yeah, we used to run a small dodger off that last eye. It works as an attractor, but thats when I didnt run spinnes and chips. Now it seems like every rod has one on it!
  8. Silver with black trim. Used sparingly over the years. $225 for the pair. Doesnt include mounts they stayed on the last boat.
  9. Both from last year. Mine came 4th of july weekend in front of Braddocks and the other during the fall LOC out of OSwego
  10. I have two - MY hammer time set-up (dalmation spinny with a hammer fly) and white on white spinny with a no-see-um fly
  11. CAZ - Are ya happy now? I know you wanted a fishing report, so now ya got one! Shu - on my noodle rod 6lb test McCoy Mean Green, and the others had 10lb big game. If it was my boat.......it would have been all Mean Green!
  12. Headed out on Jax's boat around 8am this morning for some non stop action. Firetiger, black and silver, black and gold seemed to be all we needed. 7-10 FOW doin 2-2.5 SOG. Boated 20 lost 6 or 7. All brownies ranging from 1lb-8lbs.
  13. OK, OK, I'll spill the beans. SWR (Secret Weapon Rig) is a 2-3 color core off the downrigger. Kinda like a stealthy rig. I used this rig to help me put some Kings in the boat at last years Sodus Pro Am which I ended up in 3rd place.
  14. I run a 3 rigger spread. My SWR usually goes down the chute. The core sinks, but the spinnies rise up. So I only need 5-8' to make sure they dont tangle up. I guess you have to learn the dos and donts when it comes to your boat.
  15. I call Spin Doctors spinnies. Sorry for the confusion. Spin Doctors are paddles (attractors) made by Dreamweaver.
  16. Hey nailer, good question. From my experieince a lot of "old timers" will tell you to only put them 5-10' behind the ball. BREAK THAT HABIT! I wont run my spinnies any closer than 20' and most times as far as 40' behind the ball. I have a 9'6" beam on my boat and I dont ever get these tangled. For example we were fishing the Oswego harbor salmon run last fall. I had 3 riggers and 2 wires going all with spinnies on them. Nothing closer than 20' behind the ball, and all the riggers were within 5' of each other. We were making some sharp turns to avoid colisions and never had a tangle once that weekend. You can also run spinnies off of leadcore. Just remember 10 color is going to run 40-50' depending on many factors, but that spinny is going to make it ride a few feet higher.
  17. I can pair these together for $65. So you can have a Daiwa Sealine Linecounter paired with a Heartland rod for $65. Shipped to your door! 5-Daiwa 47LC reels in good shape. Cleaned and oiled completely at the begining of last season. I would say the only thing wrong with these is the fading from the sun. $60/Reel - These sell for new at $100 a pop 5-Daiwa Heartland 8'6" Medium action rods in good shape. No eyes missing, but there is some fading to the rods from the sun. $15/rod - These sell brand new for $30 a pop I can take MO's or Paypal. If you would like pictures please PM me and I will get them to you ASAP.
  18. I had a fish hawk for years. It did its job, although not well compared to the new technology. I am purchasing a Depth Raider thie week. I have a friend who ran one the last half of '06 and loved it compared to the fish hawk he used for years. The fish hawk probe it tiny comapared to the other companies which is nice for blowback purposes.
  19. I have a 9'6" beam and I always extend my outside riggers to the full 60". With 3 riggers I can get a 19.5 foot spread. Thats one deal i love about my Scotty's, the adjustable boom. It really helps when fishing all 3 riggers over 100' down, but last fall i was running 3 spinnies off them all set back 30-60' all within a few feet of each other doinf circles in Oswego harbor. Couple that with 2 wire divers and a core. Not one tangle! Thats 5 spinnies within feet of each other. I was pretty impressed. So the moral of the story is dont short yourself!
  20. For spoons it going to be glow mullato, glow froggy, gin and juice, and penguins! TC slasher with a glow green fly.
  21. Yeah, it really sux catching 20-30 Kings a day with an average being heavy teens! I wish those first 3 weeks in May is what it was like the whole year! Then again, if it was that easy I would find a harder hobby. I try to get the new customers booked in that month of May. Im thinking with catch rates like that they are definately coming back next season! I am booked solid with charters and tourneys from the last weekend in April to the second weekend in June! I cant wait! I started leaking into mid week dates yesterday, which means Im going to be calling in sick to work a few times this May!
  22. Maybe a bad day on the water, but a good one makes me want to tell everyone!
  23. Here are two of the 30's we landed last year: This one was 4th of July weekend off Rochester, NY. It took a pink glow squid behind a TC dodger This one came the last weekend of the Fall LOC while we were doing the toilet bowl shuffle in Owsego
  24. Their new website lets you buy directly from the company. http://www.mccoyfishingline.com/products_fishingline_xtreme.html As far as price goes.....it isnt cheap, but what is now a days? a 3000yd spool will last you a while though so I guess if you break it down that way the cost isnt too bad.
