  1. Hey Rob whats going on?

  2. In addition to everything already listed, try to hit an old waypoint if you have gps. I have used ones that are a year or two old and have gotten me out of a slump.
  3. Thanks, there were definitely some flies out there but it was a lot worse a few weeks ago.
  4. Nice job on the fish, must have been a blast with the grand kids.
  5. Thanks for the report! South was the only direction that we could get fish tonight too.
  6. Took my buddies Shawn and Bryan out for a trip from 6-9:30. We went 10 for 16 (all kings) fishing mostly 120 to 130 fow. All of the fish came on a south troll from the sliders down to past the ball in Saugatuck. Rigger down 85 with a fish scale paddle took 4 fish and 3 were 15lbs or better. Slider on rigger 62 down with a Dang spoon took 1 300 copper with RV MS flounder pounder took 3 Dipsey set at 3 130 back with a Mtn Dew spin doctor took 1 Dipsey set at 3 120 back with a blue bubble spin doctor took 1 Only rod that didn't take a hit was the 200 copper with a blue killer It was great to get out again and enjoy this phenomenal fishing, but could someone turn the heat down?
  7. Took the wife and boys out swimming last night near the Saugatuck state park. We decided to do some fishing from 7 -10:30. We went 10 for 16? with 6 kings, 3 steelhead, and 1 coho. We trolled to the south slider and then down to the ball in Saugatuck staying mostly in 110-120fow. We stayed busy most of the night, starting with a double in the first ten minutes. Lost 3 nice fish within 20 ft of the back of the boat after 10pm. What worked 200 copper with Blue Killer nitro took a couple 300 copper with MS RV blue flounder pounder took 1 Magnum Blue Mango took 3 on rigger at 65 MS happee meal took 2 on a diver at 110 set on 3 Green flasher and fly took 1 on a diver at 120 set at 2.5 Orange Flounder pounder took 1 at 60 on rigger All fish came on north or south troll, didn't see anyone out of Saugatuck last night. The boys had a nice fireworks show from South Haven to Holland:grin:
  8. Fished with my dad last night in 90 -140 fow. We went 7 for 10 with 5 kings and 2 steelies. It was really difficult keeping the boat under control with just the two of us and the 3 foot waves but we had our best trip together yet. We trolled around for about an hour and a half and then got a double and then nothing for another hour. We could not get anything to hit unless we were going east through the waypoint where we got the double. We hit that point and troll a few times to get the seven fish. We had a great time but with the wind from the south and the east troll, it was not too comfortable. What worked Rigger with a mag uv Blue silverstreak took one at 85 down Rigger with a Moonshine Mongoilian beef took one at 80 down Rigger with an old pink and yellow stinger on a slider 70 down took a 17 lb king Rigger with an ET down 70 took 2 Dipsey with a Moonshine green ladderback took 1 125 back 300 copper with uv spin doctor and fly took 1 missed one 50 ft from boat Missed 2 including one that crushed the dipsey for about 7 seconds on a blue spin dr and blue bubble fly
  9. Thanks for the report Dave. Sounds like there are a lot of pigs on the bottom right now.
  10. Fished between Saugatuck and Holland Friday night with my friend Bryan. We went 10 for 18ish with 8 kings, 1 coho, and 1 glutton of a Laker. It was a pretty wild last hour and I sort of lost track of the hits. We had 2 doubles and a triple on this trip. Started at 5:30 and fished until 9:30 in 120 to 140 fow. The first 5 hits (and about 10 total) came on a braid dipsey set at 2 180ft back with a large mtn dew spin doctor and big weenie fly. The kings were just crushing the dipseys and the 200 copper when they hit, but the 2 fish that caused the most trouble were a coho and the fat laker. The coho hit a coyote slider at 75 and got wrapped around a board then when we were about to net him, got wrapped around the other rigger. While I was trying to undo the mess, that rigger just takes off with 2 lines still wrapped around it. After determining what line to cut, we landed another king after netting the coho. While I was fighting about a 17lb king, Bryan sees the rigger rod lift a bit and goes to release it. He yanks on it 4 or 5 times and can't get it to release, I hand the rod to him and try and can't get it to go. So I raise the canon ball and the line never came up a bit, it was already released??? So now we are thinking what did we snag, a snapping turtle? a tire? Jimmy Hoffa? Nope it was a fat laker that somehow dropped anchor and wasn't going to budge and here we were just slamming away at his jaw trying to pull the line from a release that was already out. After about 10 minutes we finally got the slob to surface from the depths, barely hooked in the mouth. What worked: Dipsey at 180 mt dw spin dr took 4 Rigger down 90 with mag Flounder pounder took 2 Et down 70 took 1, slider with Coyote took 1 on same setup Green ladderback moonshine on 200 copper took 2
