Wish I had that kind of luck. What speed do you troll for browns this time of year.
2.1 to 2.9 all depends on the fishes mood

Nice work Jay.
Seems like you had the shortest vacation of us all.
Some pictures would be awesome.
We are going to try to get out on Thursday' date=' but it has been horrible foggy down here.[/quote']
i dont call it a vacatoin ,more like 3 months of painfull tourture.
i would fish all winter if the launches didnt freeze

I dont know if this will work, but in Motocross I used clear nail polish on the edge of my graphics to keep the edges from from lifting up. Maybe it would work for spoons...I dunno.
super glue works great on spoons, right along the edge.they still get torn up but will last a little longer
-
Nice job Jay! Any fish porn to share with those of us who have been cooped up all winter and have not been out yet?
posted a picture in the gallery, tryed to post some steelhead pic's the other day but i am not as proficent with a computer as i am boats and fishing rods

made the shakedown trip today, everything worked just like it did at the end of nov:grin:fished out of manistee and covered a lot of water.ended up with 3 browns on a #12 hj in clown,2 browns on a #12 hj in blue/silver with a orange belly and a steelhead on a challenger minnow in clown.lost one other fish on a challenger minnow in ghost.most of the fished the harbor and down the beach.shure felt good to hit the lake.look out ho's here i come:grin:
-
not yet, next week if the weather permits.checked out the launch in benton harbor mon and its clear,no docks yet.not too much ice floating out in front of the piers.didnt see any big flows on the sat picture, looked fishable to me:grin:

i have used the offshore lights for a couple of years and like them.only downer about them is how long the watch batterys last, going to check out a set of the church light to try them out this year:grin:
-
trollmaster digital hand down, the digital display makes small adjustment very easy:grin:

Heres a question, as phil said july17 and 18 is the ludington pro am.
Do any of you guys that fish up this way think it will be a issue, if so the next date that would work would be the weekend of july 31.
I need your input.
i my self dont like to fish out of any port that is having a big tourney,to much boat traffic.on the other hand most of the tourney boats were off shore last year,14 plus miles out from the point fishing the temp breaks.we were 17 miles off shore 26 miles from manistee and there must have been 75 boats out there with us.i would lean more towards the 31st:grin:
manistee 3/22 steady action
