whats up tom.

thanks for the tour of the shop tony.the rods look great,i have a feeling i will end up with a boat full of them:thumb:

This might sound opinonated but I fully believe if you are using a 12 pound round ball and having to much blow back you are trolling way to fast. When your fishing over 100 feet most people are using a flasher fly for kings or lakers, blow back shouldn't be an issue at 1.7 - 2.0. If your ripping them at 2.2-2.6 their isn't a weight out their that won't have a ton of blow back.
i troll at 3 plus miles an hour with spoons for fall steelhead, sometimes 100 plus feet down and the bigger weights are a must.they are nice when you have heavy curents at diffrent depths too.i added brutes this year so there will be a couple #20ers on my boat for sure:thumb:

i dumped the hand cranks for 2 brutes
a wire diver set up from eyefull
2 rigger rods from eyefull
2 copper/core rods from eyefull
2 600 lcs from eyefull
4 700 lcs from eyefull
fishhawk x-4 from eyefull
garmin tr-1 gold auto pilot
4 cisco rod holders
and of course some new plugs, spoons, flys and attractors.now i just have to find some place to stuff all of it on the boat:thumb:
i might pick up a set of the new hd ratcheting rod holders from big jon.if the wife will allow it
-
as soon a harbor from frankfort to st joe is open:thumb:
-
Some guy told me to try ice fishing, I asked how fast do u troll?
i am still saving up for a trenching machine so i can cut a slot to troll.mount a rigger and rodholder on the grizzly and i am fishing:thumb:

you can find a set of hand cranks for cheep,i just sold a pair of bj with 4 foot booms ready to fish for 150 bucks, buy a cheep set use them for a year or two till you can get elect.and pass them along.i my self could not go without riggers but i have a bit of a problem when it comes to fishing equipment,i cant buy enough of it:thumb:good luck out there this season

I got one one our 27ft baha and it handles great. You can adjust the correction time to dial it into your boat and rough conditions. It's on a 15 horse long shaft and I would say it is good up to 4 plus footers. Last year it was holding a course into 30mph winds one day. So I wouldn't expect much more out of any unit.
thats what i like to hear,i have one on its way:thumb:

I caved in and decided to buy a couple sets of the Big Daddys, and a set of the Brother, but a concern I had after looking at them is the durability. I was wondering about making adjustments to the arm if it would break the adhesion, but I guess I was planning on not having to tune them too much. I was thinking about making a jig to adjust them if needed. I bought them primarily for my copper setups since the Church boards tend to ride with the "nose" up making them track funny. I'm anxious to try them out although I'm still skeptical. Who knows they may be the best board I've ever used. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
i was not sure about them untill i ran them a few times and worked out the bugs.i have switched to all z boards now.i have not had any issues with them breaking from adjusting them.great board in my opinion:thumb:
-
i have 12 of them 4 of the big daddys and 8 of the brothers.they take a little adjusting and you have to loose the pushpin release.i replaced them with offshore pinch pads,i switch between the red and black depending on conditions and what i am running.they get farther out to the side than any other boards i have used
-
they said they had to order them, they were out.they just wrote a note on the invoice but they charged my card for the whole order.they did not try to call me or email me to let me know so i could tell them to send what they had and drop the rest.they had 2 months to get them back in stock and send them out but they did not.it took almost 3 week to get what i did get.
-
DO NOT ORDER FROM WWW.ALLSEASONSSPORTS.COM I PLACED A ORDER FOR SOME STICK BAITES WITH THEM ON NOV.13TH,THEY CHARGED THE WHOLE ORDER TO MY CARD AND STILL HAVE SENT ONLY HALF THE ORDER.I CALLED TODAY AND THEY ACTED LIKE THATS NOT A BIG DEAL:mad::mad:

Some guys fish areas that have more small fish. Like you said about the line bouncing and not releasing. If you didn't see the rod jump, that that fish will drag behind the rigger till pulled. Back in the day when we fished the Detour Channel we would have a bunch of Pinks mixed in with the Kings. One morning we where not getting any hits. When we pulled our line, we had pinks on every one of them. This was back when every one used pincher pads.
I use the Blacks set tight also, but here in West Michigan we have mostly big fish.
on the chamberlains you can crank down the release to the fish as hard or as soft as you want depending on conditions, you can also adjust the tension to the rod separate.making it a lot easer to get the bow out of your line, having the rod preloaded to its max takes a lot of slack out of the line when a fish releases too.they are the only release i have used that you preload the rod with enough tension to make the drags on my rigger rods creep and still have a 10 inch king release or pull a 11 spindoctor 120 feet down at2.8 mph in 3 footers.i am not knockin the blacks but the chamberlains are a lot more adjustable.they are a little more money but when you allready have $50 grand or more wraped up in to a boat and gear what is $10 bucks more:thumb:
-
cant waite to get my hands on the wire rod he is building for me,soft water cant come soon enough:no:
-
all i run are the chamberlains.you cant beat them when the shaker kings are around.
-
i have run the big jons for years.i did break a boom once, due to the boom not being screwed in all the way.called big jon and they overnighted me one at no cost.i am going with new riggers myself this spring.going with the brutes or a set of ciscos.

Power went out about 2 pm. Consumers says that it should be back on around 5:30pm tomorrow. So the wife and I checked into the No-Tell in Alma and dropped the dog off at my sisters. Good times. Shelley didn't like my idea to go buy a generator. Guess we'll just have to tough it out for the night. Everyone stay warm and keep safe!
i could not live without mine,we loose power every time the wind blows it seems like:( we lost power at 11 this morning and it just came back on at 1am.
