  1. i have never run braid for riggers.i prefer 20#cajun red line with a 30 ft floro leader.the cajun line is tuff and you can see the red line, helps a lot when weaving lines in and out of each other.i use my rigger rods for crank baits and stick baits in the early spring and late fall.

  2. we fished manistee yesterday,14 for 20.7 steelies,5 kings and 2 lakers.we fished 4o to 50 fow and took a couple then moved out to 200 to 230 fow.most of our fish came out of a stretch of water 1/2 mile long and 200 yards wide.1,3,5 colors, 200 ft of copper and riggers 65 and 85 dwn.fire ball, steelie stomper, nucked veggies, juicy fruit,v neck and agent orange did the damage.not much boat traffic:grin: i love the fall:grin:first limit of steel for the fall

  3. from the water temps dont be scarred to run the beach north in 20 to 30 fow with plugs, aces high green ladderback glow and green scale glow have been good the last few weeks.from the looks of the weather you will need the coastguard boat to get out.we are headed that way mon morning.

  4. take down there numbers and call the cops or sherrif.i have seen them waite and write them tickets in manisee, they should confiscate there boat till they take a common sense corse.not only do they put themselves in danger but me and you to.personally i would lump there heads as a reminder:eek:

  5. defanitly our best year for numbers of fish, and the size is up there to.going to be hard to beat the size of fish we were catching the first year i hit the big water though.1 29#6 oz and 1 32#8 oz.have not broke 27# since:( this could be the year though:grin:

  6. we broke the piers about 4:00pm and pulled the throttle back to fish tailing on the 40 line.ended up catching 13 fish in a couple hrs and headed back to the bank.fishing on the bank was a little slow ended up with 3 kings and a laker.the bite was on lead all day, riggers did nothing.1,2,3,5,7and 9 colors and a flate line with no weight.steelie stomper, orange tranny, fire ball, juicy fruit, blue green dolphin, glow back blue dolphin, glow bloody nose and bad toad did the damage.we eded the day 17 for 25 9 steelies,4 lakers,3 kings and a coho.

  7. i have one in the shark size, ran it on 10 colors pulled like 300 ft of 45# copper on a board.have not caught anything useing it but it has not had much water time as most of our fish have been up highwill play with it a little more when the fish go down deep in a few weeks.i will let you know what i think after a little more testing

  8. we had a lot of fish hooked up but we worked hard for them,we fished from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm to do it.adam worked his $@% off on the back of the boat,he's the man.the best part was we had that 1/2 mile stretch all to our selves not another boat in site:grin:frank i would have to put manistee down as my favorite port, even though we are a lot closser to the bay.i just love those silver fish

  9. headed over to manistee yesterday morning with adam bomb and it was a blast:grin:.things started of slow we fished on the bank till the sun came up with little to show for it.the east wind did not help things.we pulled lined and ran out 15 miles looking for the breaks with no luck.fished out there for a few with out a hit.ran back in and found some fish on the graph and got set up for thr third time, took a hit right away and lost it,story of the day.then we got the break i was hoping, for the wind switched to the south and died right off.now it was on ,we had 2 triples and 4 or 5 doubles.by the end of the day we ground out our limit, but we had to work hard for it.we had over 40 fish on and got 23 to the boat.they just would not stay hooked, and yes we were using sharp hooks(gamagatsu mostly):grin:lead was the ticket today 2,3,5,

and 7 colors riggers at 25,45,65 took a few.mixed veggies was the hot pattern for sure, steelie stomper, blue coyote, fire ball andnuked veggies took fish too.allmost all of our action was in a half mile stretch along the bank in 80 to 100 fow.we ended up catching 12 lakers,9 kings and 2 coho.adam your welcome aboard anytime:grin:
