  1. Any of you guys familiar with the Cannon Digi-Trol IV HS downrigger? I recently purchased a couple (got a really good deal on them), but haven't heard much about them. I know one reason is the price . I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't get such a deal on them. Also, any of you guys have experience with the Moor Subtroll 900? Bought one of those too, but I'm looking at modifying the little coil spring with something more robust. Saw a pretty good idea on-line on how to do it.
  2. Its a 2003 Baha Cruiser 277 GLE. It has a single screw in-board 6.2 MPI engine. I want to put a kicker on it next year. I have a Garlink hydraulic lift on the transom now, but have to wait until next year to get the kicker. I want a Honda 4-cycle 15 HP long-shaft with remote throttle.

  3. Thanks for the response. I was fortunate enough to find two brand new (still in the box) Cannon Digi-Troll IV HS units that were being discontinued at the store where I bought them so they sold them to me for pretty much half price! I was in seventh heaven! I just brought them home tonight.:D:D:D
  4. Has anyone used the transducer that allows your downriggers to raise/lower as the depth changes on your Cannon Digi-Troll IV HS riggers? I was wondering if this causes excess drain on the battery, with extra wear-and-tear on the riggers. Also, you would be changing your rod tension as you went deeper/shallower. Not a big deal, but necessary. Is this a worth while investment, or a PITA feature?
  5. Where did you find these? Can you get them with the plastic coating?
  6. Red Baron, In D Red, Strike King, She's Only 17, Hoof Arted. (Not sure how long your boat is, and the last one I thought was just plain funny).
  7. Little red riding hood:rolleyes:
  8. Reminds me of the old "Spuds Mckensey" dog. Wow. I'm really dating myself now.
  9. Everything's negotiable. Make me an offer....a reasonable offer. No low-balls please.
  10. I was thinking about keeping them since the season is fast approaching, but I'll sell if we can agree on a selling price.
  11. I'm looking at adding a kicker on my Baha Cruiser 277 GLE too with the same idea that you have. I'm interested in hearing any input from anyone who has done this as well.
  12. One more try. Getting anxious to put it in the water. Next month I'm having the bottom paint, and barrier coat redone. Seeing all these beautiful pics of salmon is really giving me the fever. I've got a couple manual Cannon downriggers for her this year until I save up the coin for electrics. Would like to add four riggers. Two out-and-downs, and two down the chute.
  13. Thanks. The boat has changed a bit since I bought it. I've added a couple rod trees, rod holders, and a few other items. I'm still saving up for some electric downriggers. Looking at either Vectors, or Cannons. I'll try posting some pics from last Summer showing the transformation.
  14. I agree. Don't skimp on the radio, and antenna. I have an 18' antenna on my boat with a high end radio. I can pick up Whitehall from Holland. Sometimes it's a pain though because you get ALL the chatter, but I know I'll be heard if something goes wrong, or if somebody need help.
  15. Jay's Sporting Goods has a nice selection. There's one in Gaylord, and Clare. They can ship them to you.
  16. Anybody use the die-ver docks? I stumbled across these recently, and they look like a useful invention, but at $8.00 a pop I can't see buying too many of them to find out if I like them or not.
  17. Awesome pics of the bridge. We use to go up there every year when we were kids, and I've always loved staying at Parkside Hotel and staring at the bridge listening to the cars click-clack across the expansion joints. Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories.
  18. Man, I have the Winter blahs big time. I keep looking at my rig sitting out in the yard all shrink wrapped, and can't help but think of warm Summer nights just as the sun touches the deep blue lake, and listening to screaming reels, and the excitement of landing Mr. Salmanoid. I'm hoping old man winter is getting tired out so there won't be any more big storms this year. Can't wait until the lines get wet again.
  19. Where in Mecosta county were these taken. I grew up in Mecosta county.
  20. Honda. They're quiet, efficient, and dependable. The downfall is the price. I want to get one for mine someday.
  21. Just wanted to see what everyone has on there wish list for next season for there boats, or fishing setups:grin:. What new toys/equipment are you adding to your fishing arsenal?
  22. I have Cannons on my rig right now, but I was advised by a guy at the local outfitter shop in Holland to use some sort of shock absorber when using 14# balls. I just bought some #14 balls so I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. There's nothing worse then having your balls bounce uncontrollably.
