  1. Great work on the fish! Way to get another one "hooked" on salmon fishing!!
  2. Well done! We had about a similar trip last night out of GH...5/7, but inside of 50' combat fishing by the pier heads...LOTS of boats for a Thurs night, but what a beautiful night it was (no flies either!!!)
  3. Yeah, no sense in trying to manuever around the ships, let alone early "combat" fishing!! Heading out tonight, and thinking we'll head deeper first, and in later depending on how we're doing! Thanks again!!
  4. Looked like a lot of boats fishing right outside the pier head this morning and yesterday morning...did you try that near sunset at all? Thanks for the report!!
  5. Nice! Looks like the fish are in even closer today! Looks like late Aug. by the pier in GH!!
  6. Nice trips Eric! Lost gear gives you an excuse to "restock"! The low hook-up-to-land ratio seems to be the norm this year~feisty fish!!
  7. At least she was cursing at the FLIES and not you;) Thanks for the report!
  8. Well done Ken & crew! I bet the flies were still hungry too! Sounds like the fish are a little deeper than early in the week.
  9. Thanks again Ken for an awesome trip! I think you really need to consider a bigger cooler!!
  10. Muskegon seems to be HOT What temp was the water you were getting them in?
  11. Yeah, I hear ya....last Saturday didn't seem to matter where or what depth I fished out of GH, I couldn't find anything below 60 degrees!
  12. Thanks for the report! Sounds like a nice night of fishing!! I hope to get out next week! Did you find some cooler water out there?
  13. Awesome..,.like the "cat-like-reflexes" rigger rod handler!
  14. Holy $#@! What a night! What water temp were you killin' 'em in?
  15. Thanks for the great detailed report:thumb: I appreciate not only what and where, but the pic's are greatly appreciated too!! I fished similar water Sat morning out of GH but only managed 1 10# King Couldn't seem to find them ~ seemed to be feast (guy at the cleaning station had 10) or famine (one boat had 2, another 0 at the dock at North Shore) I couldn't find water below 60 degrees. Shoulda headed further south I guess!!
  16. Way to go:thumb: Sounds like a great time (other than the chumming part)
  17. I had a similar incident last week with a king who insisted on going from port to starboard twice:eek:...fortunately I was just setting the 2nd downrigger when he hit, otherwise I would've had the same thing! Thanks for the report!
