  1. Having the actual depth on the Fish Hawk will make it much easier and faster to pinpoint where all your temp breaks and current layers are located. Just reading off the rigger counters is going to add an amount of variance. For example, if your fishing deep and into a strong current your counter may be off by 10' to 20'. Its surprising to see sometimes how little changes like a small shift in troll direction can change how deep your gear is running. I don't think the depth function on the Function is a necessity, but it certainly is a nice feature. Also, just targeting an area where you see fish on your sonar isn't always where your going to take hits. The only time you get a true reading on how deep a fish is is when you go right over the top of them. The further out to the side of the cone the fish are the deeper they will show up on the graph.
  2. Yeah those charts don't make much sense, maybe they were running a different speed or direction when they put them together. After looking at it a bit closer, down to 60' or so it looks pretty accurate, maybe hit a different current layer down a bit deeper.
  3. Here is the link to the new 7 oz weight for the slide divers.
  4. I am planning on switching over my high divers to slide divers this year and I was wondering what you guys are using for weights and rings on them? I currently run mags on my low diver and standard high diver, and I was thinking of running the lite bite slide diver with the standard weight and a mag ring. I am looking to get roughly that 3:1 ratio on the slide diver. Thoughts?
  5. Thanks for the reminder and welcome to GLF christelbee, let us know if you need anything.
  6. I have fished the Green Bay side a few times when it has been to rough on the lake side. You can find a few kings and an occasional brown over there but the fishing isn't nearly as good as the lake side. The bay gets pretty warm, so if you fish that side look for cold water.
  7. Take a look at this map. If you go 4 miles strait East out of the ship canal you will hit the South edge of the bank in about 90 FOW, from there you can follow the edge North for about three to four miles. The vast majority of boats are going to run out to the bank and head North in the morning so it gets pretty congested on weekends. If you try going east and west while its busy your not going to make many friends and your probably going to be replacing your long lines. Good luck next season, Sturgeon Bay has a lot to offer and I think you will like it!
  8. Even if you don't use them you can always flop your outrigger out to help get a little more separation from other boats. The bank tends to get a little congested in the morning, especially if you plan on fishing weekends.
  9. You can run your high divers out on the outriggers to get more separation if you want. The rocking of the boat will also give them a ton of action.
  10. Welcome Kal! I always thought it would be fun to land a big king while fishing out of a kayak!
  11. I see what you mean I haven't thought of it that way. I have never run the shorter coppers on them, thanks for the insight.
  12. Could there have been to much tension and it was pulling the hooks through their mouth? It seems to me going to a smaller board would decrease tension since they can get pulled back by the fish much easier.
  13. I've been using troutbeads.com for a few years now and I have been very happy with them.
  14. I have never run the TX 22's but I would think the walleye boards would have an advantage over them since you can adjust the weight forward to offset the heavier copper pulling the back of the board down to far. I have not had a issue with losing fish with the TX 44 boards. The only issue I have had with them is sometimes it is tricky to get the outside board in if you running multiple 44 on one side, usually due to currant direction. And like Dave said, if you bury the nose on a TX44 with a fish on your going to be in for a battle, and probably a lost fish.
