  1. tying 2 colors of lead to copper I have seen at a couple of stores in the past that they are selling copper rigs with a couple colors of lead core on the end to help with deploying copper. Does anyone know what knot they are using I am thinking of trying this out. I can't seem to find anything on this.
  2. Go to good ball bearing swivels I tried some cheaper ball bearing swivels and still had the same problem. Also make sure your clevis is spinning freely. They can get sand in them and might need cleaned out, or might need replaced if they have extra material in them from the mold process. I have had this with the plastic ones where there is a little plastic lent from molding them. When the good bb swivels start to stick run them under fresh water and it flushes any sand out and you can use them again.
  3. thanks I will get in touch with you to take a look at them.
  4. Does anyone have plans for a big set of board that they have tried and work well. I know there are a lot on the internet but looking for a tried and true set of plans. There are a ton of variations and trying to save time by getting a set that work.
  5. what jimmy was explaining is to keep the engine "noise" off the circuit allowing you to use your sensitivity more and being able to pic things up better. When you have noise on the circuit you have to adjust the sensitivity to a point where you miss a lot on the graph. It can also add noise into your marine vhf and lower your range.
  6. we use 20 for salmon no worries there. I typically use big game but my dad has used xl with no issues.
  7. franks in Linwood has sharks 12 15 and 20 lb and they ship.
  8. My Dad went to a seminar last month and the speaker was a lake O captain speaking on cut bait rigs. He was explaining that they are running cut bait up to 3.5 mph that you have to tune your bait head for the correct roll at that speed. I haven't used cut bait all that much and was considering using it a little more this coming season. Does anyone know how to adjust the bait heads? and if so how do you tune them for faster speeds?
  9. Exactly people just need a fancy name for a it now. As a kid 30 years ago my dad used to use the big jon dropper release that would drop the ball when a fish hit.
  10. Yeah after hearing this I will just go to st joe. I like having the cleaning station so I don't have to deal with it at home. I get the dnr pass but feel safer across the river.
  11. Wow interesting. I was thinking of using the launch for a few weekends for Coho before going to Monroe for mid may through the end of june. I was thinking if it was reasonable enough like Ludington 41 bucks I would just get the annual but screw that. Its way to much for as little as I will use the launch.
  12. Was wondering if anyone knew how much the south haven annual launch pass is. I cant find anything on their website except that one is available.
  13. Use the 600lc for wire if you go to a 700 you have to add a ton of backing that you will never use. One of the reasons for wire there is a claim of a harmonic signature that you don't get with braid that increases your hook ups.
  14. I agree wire is the way to go with using tekotas.
  15. I'll probably go but don't need a table
  16. How do I adjust the notifications to my email I want them turned off and cant find a way to do it.

  18. What is the date for this. Kind of hard to say without a date.
  19. Do not use magdas for divers they will not hold up and the drags suck on them for diver usage. By the time you upgrade the drag you may as well just buy convectors. Where are you located?
  20. we do it and I think it helps to put more fish in the boat.
